He sure was aggressive too – OI!! I’m sure he must’ve knocked one or two blokes off if they didn’t get right out of the way when he barked and belted past them! Sure was an awesome trail – who needs hills when you have that much tight technical ST?! I reckon hills are a good challenge but I’d rather racing through that stuff I reckon. Beauty is a perfect mix of course – then there’s ERZBERG!!!

Sorry wikd nah wont work on 4strokes.
The torque controller is actually a power valve damper that affects when the power valve can open. It works by applying resistance against the power valve control arm and you can adjust from 1-8 where 1 is like a stock bike and 8 has the power valve opening latest.
they also have a map switch which affects the ignition similar to the KTMs (and others I think?). I have a sneaking suspicion the demo was on the mild ignition map when I rode it and hence the power not being a massive shock.
I’m likely to do a ride from the pines saturday and or sunday after christmas and will be happy to give you blokes a ride and perve once I’ve had a good run :p
Family christmas party this weekend in wollongong. I thought it was today otherwise I would’ve been riding today for sure! You can imagine how bad I want to get out there especially since my last couple of rides have been canned in an effort to sort this out.
Beemer I don’t mind you hijacking, you’ve made me feel better about my shed. You see I live in a townhouse and barely have room for my bike and car so things get stored wherever they fit :p
I’ll have to check menace – I thought they were a 10.5 also and if it isn’t I’ll have to look at how much it is for the bigger tank.
I might be working the 28th moto but I’ll be heading out on the saturday and sunday I reckon.
I think the power difference is that with the 450 its always there whereas the 300 you seem to be able to keep it motoring off pipe and then squirt it and go!
Anyone that’s ridden with me can attest that the triton is too bloody high to load with the 2″ lift and 33″ tyres! Other than that its a great car. Mine has 80k on it and its more car than I need but still drives nice even with the tyres.
I hear what you’re saying Ollie. Time will tell I suppose but I’ll look into what’s available anyway. There’s a fair amount of exchangable parts with other bikes so that may be one of them.
Shed is a bit dirty. If you look closely the stuff that’s spread around on the ground is bike related – I finished working on the KTM and it’s sat that way since. Here endeth my confession :p When I get the chance after christmas I’ll be spiffing it all up and setting up my new work stand I got through Suttos.
Regarding the power, I originally didn’t want to buy a 300 because I thought the power would be similar to the 450 and I don’t like that at all – well I do but not for my only bike, maybe if I had a bike for each purpose
We’ll see how this goes and if it does have too much poke for me I’ll ask nicely for my balls back and if that doesn’t work I’ll get the 250 and go from there.
TM is about $1k cheaper than the KTM and you could put that down to the lecco start that I didn’t really want. Not that I wouldn’t like a magic button but I wouldn’t want to pay for an unreliable chunk of weight and would prefer a lighter bike. Re-sale will probably never match a KTM but I didn’t buy it to save money – I bought it because it’s a quality purpose built bike with all the fruit and it’ll push my improvement along plus suit the race track down to a tea.
Good to hear Dan it sure wouldn’t be the same without you
Hope you and the family are doing well.
2010 models are advertised at $12,900 on road but Mal and Simon seem like great blokes and were going to do me a great deal on one with all the bits I wanted.
Seat does seem hard and the demo bit me in the arse a couple of times and nearly knocked my teeth loose – bloody linkage :p I’ll give it some time and have a play around with it but I’m aiming to be an active rider so don’t want some cushie seat spoiling me into sitting on it all day.
Thanks for the welcome too guys
Yeah I came across it on ebay and spoke with Mal about it and then the bloke and had it taken off ebay the day I spoke to him
Funny you mention my name, the reason I couldn’t turn it down was because it matched “Austblue” and the nice smurf blue Thor gear I bought this year
Well that’s not the real reason but it all works well so why not :p
I was a bit quiet about my test ride but I’ve written up a report that I sent a couple of blokes. Strange thing was I didn’t find the test bike to be any where near as fast as everyone made out and nor was it anywhere near as lethal as my mate’s crf450x. I told Mal this when I took it back and questioned if the jetting was right for such a hot day and he assured me it was spot on. I liked the power and felt that it would be controllable and it showed lots of grunt up a snotty hill and that’s why I bought it but I’m still wondering if this bike is going to be different to the demo!
Of course coming off a 250 4t it should be scaring the shit outta me!!!
Anyone have dan’s number to give him a call and check he’s ok?
I hope you can sort out whatever is up, mate – riding is great fun but a happy and healthy life is number 1 priority so do what it takes to make things right and we’ll still be there for you, bike or no bike.
Cheers.
Have you seen the trials vid where he’s in the house?
I think our expectations are probably unfairly high on this one due to that slick urban moto and pedal trials videos posted here before :p
That wouldn’t be a big concern on a motard anyway would it? How much would it be for a lowering link?
I think having it in gear and the reat tyre on the ground would stop it from rolling off TDC anyway. The locking bolt is good if you’re doing a rebuild but not really necessary for valve clearances unless you’ve already or are going to dump the oil anyway. So why the change in the ex valves murph?
I think I posted this up but I was told that the cause of my dead spark in the bush the other week was my button! They reckon there must’ve been a bad connection and that was allowing it to turn but not give spark. Sounds strange to me but anyway yeah simplify it while you can!
You can download full codec packs like klite from download.com and then you’ll never have to worry about codecs again
Funnily enough years ago my older brother got into riding bikes after riding the postie around New Brighton golf course like it was an mx track when he was an apprentice greens keeper there :p It’s a bit of a stretch but that was my first taste of riding too so I suppose I was attracted to riding as a result of using a golf course as an mx track :p
My mate bought me one of these and it’s been good. Noisey as anything when you unfold it in a rush at 5am outside the neighbours window and is more than capable of handling the bike. What does a golf cart weigh?
