I have a ute and I’d prefer the carrier :p

My triton ute is bloody high to load in and out of and I lose the tray with the bike in it and I can’t easily put the tray cover on and off so no security.

I’ve put up with the tray for a year and I’m either getting the carrier or an easy trailer in the near future. If I had the room it’d be a good box trailer no questions asked but I don’t.

I agree though, you need to consider that you’ll have 120kgs odd hanging off your tow bar which is substantial.

If my mate backs out I’ll come for a torture session Murph. My bike deserves a bit of punishment before I get rid of it and I’ve been down hitchcocks a few times and thought “that’d be f!@#ed to go up so why not find out :D

If benno is going to ride it’ll be my last ride with him before he moves to port douglas and I don’t think he’d be able to ride grade 5 without too much help slowing down the group. Is hitchcocks the only grade 5? If it is I might talk him into it because he’s a capable rider just might not have the conditioning since he’s ridden about 80kms in the last 6months! TBH I’m jittery about how I’ll handle it if it gets hot!

Okey doke. Are you taking the 300? If I end up riding I’ll try and start from there and see if I can have a short ride on it if that’s ok.

Yeah I’m thinking I’ll hold off on selling the KTM till January when I’m ready to replace it. I’m right to ride this weekend then I’m sure I’ll be up for a ride between chrissy and new years.

Ecks recommended magnesium to me and I went out and bought the tablets and a powder but I can’t recall the name of it. Anyway I mix that into my camelbak and it has made a big difference for me.

Does Sutto’s stock hammer gels? If not he should – I was seeing stars in the heat out one day when me and my bike were having a hard time and huskybloke gave me a hammer gel and within minutes I was a lot better.

I might be up for a couple of rides in there I think. Probably going to ride this weekend too if anyone wants to suggest a spot.

Yeah I think I have 2 sandisk 2gb SDHC cards though I’ve recently been told that they like kingston brands best for some reason and you can now go up to 4gb with the flash upgrade. Dags over at DBW is a bit of an authority on them since he bought a heap and was renting them out.

I’ve had a lot of great help in the tech department which I’ve enjoyed and I always love a good ride report so you can read back about what happened. I even find writing a ride report helps you remember some funny bits from the day which is why mine are typically longer.

FWIW I just read through a thread on DBW (before I found this place) where I was trying to change the exhaust on my bike and had no idea how to get it on. I’ve certainly learnt a lot mostly thanks to the help received here in the tech section.

    Thanks old bulls ;)

I’m sure I’m the millionth person to say “where’s the 450r!” I reckon it’d sell a lot of bike being a competitor to the DRZ for low maintenance dirt and small road trips.

Sorry bout your thread transit! p.s I’d be wary of big bore kits but if your determined they can work. Take a look around KTMtalk.com for some discussion in the RFS forum.
