For an over the phone it was a great price – Thanks for that too! I’d be happy to go with them if I go orange again but as much as I love my bike I’d like to try others to see if I only love it because I don’t know any better :p

And yeah any dealer can help with warranty and I think the guys at newcastle are nice enough to help out regardless where you bought.

I’m going to test ride another brand shortly and that will make my mind up I hope. Once I’ve done that then I’ll talk price but unless I’m quick the 09 runout will have ran out!

Sounds good mate I’d like to ride somewhere different – I’ve ridden kitchener with p-dub previously and that’d probably be good for all grades if you’re interested. My mate is coming from sydney and has to get back by the evening though so port is probably a tad far.

Couple of things to keep in mind xr. Firstly the XR is a tractor and it is tuned to run and run well within its potential. Most new bikes are tuned quite a bit harder and run with less margin for forgiveness or poor maintenance.

And most importantly, you generally only read the bad stories. Countless blokes are out there riding the same bikes without any problems but they generally don’t come on here and post up about it unless its a milestone.

FWIW I just read a brief report on the bergs this morning which was written by a UK guy that hires them out. If anyone is interested I can paste it here but in general terms it was quite a brief but glowing report.

It might’ve been the scarcity of the bikes I was asking about but shane wouldn’t budge on price for me A dealer in qld quoted me $1300 cheaper than him and it included shipping!!! Mind you shane’s price was standard, the qld price has me up at night trying to decide which way to go next!
