Can anyone tell me why you’d want a slipper clutch in SM racing? I would have thought using compression lock ups to help get the back out would be an advantage especially on right handers.
Also, how cool is this thing

You cannot buy this bike as is, this is a factory bike valued at $31000 new, this bike will suit any clubman, long track and of course supermotard racer, It holds the track record at Collie in W.A…. Catch tanks as well as bolts drilled and wired as specified by MWA….I wonder if you could register it….
Some pretty cool stuff in this vid too. SM just looks like so much fun I reckon, its a shame that it’d be hard to get into with the lack of tracks around, similar to trials riding in that sense.

Is there some sort of solvent treatment that could clean it out without opening her up?? My single wall pipe may as well be made of paper its that soft but it does sound great.

I honestly started my response when there was only 2 replies but got distracted – bloody work getting in the way of my posting. I was only subtle with my post though because without knowing the OP I think if you were happy with the way your XR400 behaved a 300 2t might be too much fun for your heart :p
What do you consider high maintenance? I don’t really think a good modern bike is high maintenance and although my 4stroke was a bit of a lemon I don’t think the maintenance schedule was difficult though I have to say that going to a 2t has made me lazy as hell because I can just ride it and wash it so the little things that aren’t very necessary don’t get done where I used to have to go over the bike most rides to fix bits.
I’d suggest either a DRZ or if you’re after a change try a WR450 or even a WR250R perhaps. If you’re an active rider I think you’ll find these more fun rather than the pedestrian XR/DRZ style. Of course people will get defensive about that statement but it is fact that most people can’t throw the heavier bikes/tractors around fast trails though I acknowledge not everyone wants to.

I refuse to join any club that would have me as a member :woohoo:
Thanks everyone (even old slinky ^^) much appreciated! Heading down to melbourne which should be nice with this cold weather but it would’ve been a nice riding weekend! I’m expecting a quiet day at work at least though they’re the ones that usually turn to soup :p
Boony did you get my present in the mail? I autographed a piccy of me and the ranga in our budgies for you but I was a bit worried the postie might pinch it for himself.
You guys enjoy the weekend!
p.s Life’s great isn’t it!
By the way when I first read this “thought” I had to show the missus because it applied perfectly to our situation this week. We’re looking at buying a house at the moment and she is anxious to put it lightly and was asking why she was so unsure about things even though we’ve done so much homework compared to friends of ours that bought with a 100% loan on the spur of the moment. It’s a bit smug and possibly naive to claim being intelligent just because you’re full of doubt though :p
Surely the bulk and now rapid removal and combustion of so much oil and coal etc. must have an effect on the earth’s equilibrium.
I watched 2012 on the weekend. errr…. interesting movie
That piccy in the back window looks very similar to one of our legends’ avatar too!
I’d rather be scooting around the country than sitting here at work but then I’d really rather getting around like this…
I wonder if I’m old enough to say “I’d rather be an old fart than a young d*ckhead!” Seeing the young blokes wandering around these days makes me greatful that I was a young d*ckhead in a different generation that’s for sure!
The ghost who walks! Good to see you back tranny!
