“If you can’t fix it with a hammer then you’ve got yourself an electrical problem”
haha make sure you pop the collar first.
100% I’ve been keeping a very keen eye on it with my recent issues. Its also the third ride without touching the oil. Good suggestion though I did read that also.
Yeah I figured that too and that’s also why I’m worried about my jacket because they said they can knock you back if you don’t have appropriate gear and since I don’t ride on the road I don’t have road gear!
Happy birthday rocket!

My valves have been fine with the high comp set up for the past 1600kms or so. I’ve been a tad slack and not done it yet but should do tomorrow.
booked in for my pre-provisonal course and test on friday but i’ll be hiring a bike for the day to do that since I don’t have blinkers etc. and I’m even a tad anxious about what jacket I’ll wear :0
I watched codemaster change mayzee’s on the weekend and its not that bad especially if you don’t pinch the tube
Does he have the original?
26 would be the head/wrench size and and its a 24mm diameter bolt. If you have the original or know what it should look like you could go to an engineering mob or even a bike specific place like Greg Ball could make that up for you.
Ordered that on sunday and it was here this morning!
Yeah I spoke with them and found them helpful also and could’ve upsold me the lighter rear sprocket but he was fair dinkum about it and the postage was fast so I rate them.
I haven’t pulled a carby apart in about 10years so it’ll be another learning experience
thanks for the help so far everyone.
With me at the helm it’s constantly in a compromised position
Hopefully I’ll get a chance to pull the carby off and flush it this afternoon. Should I flush it with metho or just use fuel?
My starter went the other week and after pulling the button apart I discovered that it had simply come off the wiring harness behind the head light.
When the starter doesn’t work are you able to kick it over? Just wondering because if you can I doubt the kill switch is causing the drama. Check the terminal on the starter is clean and has a good connection also. You could bypass the relay and run power directly to the starter to see whether the problem is the starter or the wiring/relay.
Here’s the wiring diagram for my bike if that helps. WRT the starter nothing should have changed I’d think.
What did you mean by “pressurised sump issue”? Is that just a different way of saying bad rings causing pressure in the case to be relieved with blow by?
Bike definitely didn’t o/heat – rads full with coolant and the day was hot but we were belting through s/t and dual + a transit section not long before the loss in idle ocurred.
