Cheers. Nah its 250f as per my sig. I’m going to give the bike a good going over while the motor is out so hopefully I might get a better idea.
thanks for the help so far guys.
I just found that site and they’re a bit cheaper on there so I think I’ll be getting one of these as it suits my space requirements. I googled it and found some bikers that said they’d been using theirs regularly for years without worry so fingers crossed its tougher than it looks but it should have a pretty easy life with me. Its a bit funny because I have a ute but it’s a 4wd dual cab so it’s death defying to load and I’d like to have the tray lid back on for all my gear to get locked up and keep it out of the cab.
I might be interested in getting one also depending on the price. I’d like to be able to stand it on its tail when not in use due to space issues so the lighter the better. Considering the easy-trailer option but I’m a little concerned about durability being that they’re a kit so bolted connections.
Hey TB how do you go turning your gopro on when you’re out riding? A bloke mentioned he changed a setting so that it beeped and you knew it was on when you hit the button but I couldn’t find any explanation on how to do that in the manual. I usually have to rely on a riding buddy to tell me if the light is flashing or taking it off and then fiddling around trying to get it back onto the mount. It’d sure be nice to be able to switch it on on the fly!
Haven’t seen the footage from the above but I was happy with my gopro when it was working. Just waiting for the bloke I bought it off to exchange mine because it stopped working but I’m very happy with it.
Is there a pic showing how the seat strap works? Is it just relying on the one seat bolt?
Thanks for the offer bull!
Sorry, what’s the ktm tech help?
This is what it says in the repair manual:
Checking the valve clearance
– Use the feelø gauge 590.29.041.000 to measure the valve
clearance:
lntake valves 0.10 – 0.20 mm
Exhaust valves 0.12 – O.22 mm
– Wite down any dcviations from the specified valve clearance,
remove the camshafts and measure the thickness of the installed
shims. lf the measured valve clearance is too small, use thinner
shims; if the valve clearance is too large, install thicker shims.
Shims are available in thicknesses of 1.72 to 2.60 mm in
graduations of 0.04 mm.
– Check the valve clearance again after asscmbly and correct again if
necessary,
– Unscrew the engine locking screw, remount with the CU-seal ring
and tighten to 20 Nm.I think I’m hijacking so I might just start another thread.
Rat,
I’m just researching how to check the valves on my 07 250excf and the repair manual doesn’t really help much but it does mention the use of shims for adjustment. Is there a better ‘how to’for checking the valve clearances than the repair manual?
I’d like to reserve a set if i can. I’m going to put in an order for a few things (this, HD tubes, wash cover…) once I get some info back about the piston so I’ll just lump the order together.
No worries. I reckon they’re a great idea – the other week riding with pete we were chatting a fair bit through the day and when it ot damp I found that putting my goggles onto my jaw protector fogged them up and they wouldn’t clear quickly so I felt like a goose riding with only a small window of clear vision!
I hope its ok that I post this being that its not the same product but show’s the concept. I couldn’t find a pic of the scott system on a helmet.
Jak and Jeffro,
what you can see here would be different in that the attachment would be the buckle rather than the velcro but the concept remains that you can just unclip one side and let the goggles hang off the other side rather than completely removing them or putting them around your neck when you want to take a break from them.
I’m sure the blokes that designed this are smarter blokes than I have but can I ask, isn’t there a bit of risk that the steel buckle could act as a point/concentrated load and punch through your helmet if you fall? Are the velcro attachment speed straps no good?
Mate of yours?
Mate I’ve read about some of the riding over there I reckon it’d be great! Good training too – if you can handle riding in that humidity it’d be like sitting in the pool riding the st back here!
Still doesn’t say if its a steel tip! I’ll give them a call I suppose its just a pita because I work in an open office
