Hoobz on DBW has a POV-1 and I reckon his videos are edited nicely so worth a look.

Neither of these are me. I haven’t got off my fat arse to edit them yet.

I’m (eventually) going to sow my spine plate onto the body but that reminds me that the front zipper is dodgy also and wd40 didn’t really help much :(

ECKS, I just flicked over to DBW to find a thread I posted a link in where a guy had a big off and although he was spruiking a bit he claimed the spine protector saved his life. The link doesn’t have the pic anymore but the off was during dakar and the guy still ended up severely injured – you posted before I put the link up but did you happen to read it?
I reckon spine protection is pretty important.

I typically search high and low on the internerd when I buy stuff like this and that’s how I came across this guy.

I can put you onto the bloke I got mine off. I paid $300 odd delivered and they’re usually $370 or so. I’ll dig it up now ;)

Motul dot 4 $14/500ml similar for motorex I think but it only comes in 250ml

I’ll drop into supercheap this afternoon and see what bleeders they have.

No worries, next question is which brake fluid and where to source it from. I was thinking 5.1 motul from the local KTM dealer but is that necessary? It also seems like a great way to pay more for something you can get from anywhere :p

I have the alpine stars and the zipper that attaches the spine protector to the body broke but I think they have better zips now.

I couldn’t get comfortable with mine under my jersey so I ran with it on the outside on saturday and it was a lot more comfortable but the kidney belt is a bit big so it was sliding up around my waist.

torpedo7 do good deals occasionally and ballards have a 661 on special right now.

Heading back through the stuff I knew I felt like I was riding better than ever and it felt like it was going forever which was great because we were having too good a time to feel tired. Eventually we popped out at the pines and the three of us were absolutely stoked with the arvo run. I kept gaining confidence all day which just helped my riding although we didn’t ride as hard as my last OBT run I felt like my conditioning was getting better too. As was mentioned quietly at that last run I’ve only been riding a short while and I’m getting more and more stoked with the sport with every ride!
Next run is the 30th or 31st of May – will post up when I know where unless someone else is keen for something in particular. A couple of the guys had been there before but not explored so much and were really impressed so they’re keen to come again soon.
