Done. Happy to throw some more further down the track also.
Just about to do an EFT is the account name cheque or is that the account type?
I’m only very new here but after one ride I feel like I’ve gained a lot out the place already and will hopefully continue to which makes me think it might be a good idea to have a sticky at the top of each ride gathering or report thread saying something like “Please donate whatever you think this service is worth to you”. It’d be an easy way for new blokes and regulars to justify the expense IMO.
Maybe we should set up the donation amount based on what you ride? Of course us KTM riders wouldn’t be able to put much up since we’re all broke from fixing our expensive, unreliable bikes right?
I’ll upload the pics of my helmet tin foil mod later….
What I meant was have you heard what the paranoid tin foil hat wearing crowd have been saying about the pig flu. If you’re into conspiracy theories or have a few brain cells to kill then click these….

http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=13356Have you guys read the tin-foil hat stuff that’s been going around? I’ll find a link and post it if ya like
Yeah I saw that but I’m booked out for ben’s missus’ 30th that day. I’m tying to drag my brother up the following saturday though so I’ll post up when I lock him in.
Don’t read me wrongly either – we loved the pace, just weren’t sure if you guys were getting held up because we were hitting it as fast as we were capable and sometimes maybe faster than that. As I said in the other thread though there’s only one way to find out what you’re capable of and that’s to push it and we’re not going to get any better plodding around with a bunch of guys taking it easy.

If you had done this ride with a trail tours mob it would cost you easily $100. This is definatley one of the big pluses for this forumB)
Ollie
Happy to throw the Barby in any time Ollie.
Rumour has it that those snags had won awards
Yeh Trent trail tours would charge you a hundred plus for that ride.Old Bulls is cheap as! only $50 :silly:
Only joking of course
 I reckon Ollie would chip in for me anyway after I let him fly by me in the whoops to make him feel good!
cheers for the kind words guys. Unfortunately it looks like you guys might be stuck with me for a while because I quite like it over here and Ben and I certainly enjoyed the spirit of the ride on the weekend so we’ll be looking to join you again when we can.
Yeah $40 isn’t too bad but I just figure that its a bit big for the kidney belt to be useful and 2nd hand it’s probably only worth $100-150. The other alternative is to modify the straps to shorten them since the body armour is fine.
Just found this thread!
Old mate on the CRF is Ben. He “works” for a living so not as much computer time as me (and from the looks of it most of you blokes) but I’ve passed him on a link. He was saying that night that he felt bad that he didn’t offer moto his helmet but I think he was still trying to figure which way was up and whether the tree he landed on had given him a 2nd belly button or not.

I don’t know why but my body just wants to shut down after a little break and a feed and then once the cramps and fatigue set in I was all arms and legs bouncing up some of those hills. Ollie must have thought he was riding with bruce lee watching all the limbs swinging
Pics look good and so’s the vid thanks. I’m dirty on myself not having fresh batteries in my camera
The day was a good laugh from the minute we got there and that old moll started into us about parking within 10m of her van then her husband got stuck into her and told her to pull her head in 😆
My first ‘oh shit what have I got myself into moment’ was as we flew down the hill and I lost sight of the young fella in front of me (KTM450?) and tried to catch up only to have a bloody tree lay down in front of me out of nowhere
I hit the skids about a split second after my undies did and managed to get the front over it ok but the back hit hard enough to send my arse flying into the air and I quickly followed the bike into the lantana for a soft landing
I think it was P-dub that was sweeping at that stage and helped me remove all the bush from the back sprocket so I could make my way on again(that’s how deep I got
) – thanks mate.
Sitting at the bottom of Ollie’s “tester” was a little daunting as we queued up to be tried and watched the fellas in front of us hitting the deck over and again  Good on ya for helping out there Dan and I think Jeffro too.
I had 2 unsuccessful runs at that hill in the video and the first ended ok when I ran out of traction and rode across then back down but the second is just at the start of that video and you can see me sliding backwards to the amusement of all the boys watching on. Pride made me politely decline moto’s offer to ride my bike up but it was to spite my body! As I lined up at the base I let out a nervous laugh as benno came rolling down the hill then watched as meathead moto did it easy. Inspired that even a honda could make it up with a ktm rider at the helm I ripped in and picked the better line than previously at the first half then started to lose traction and apparently focus as I took off to the right and I precariously rode up along the ridge of a nice deep rut.
It felt great making it to the top. So good in fact that I forgot how buggered I was and started to help that other group get up until the adrenalin wore off and my ribs screamed for mercy.

Quote:Thanks again to the Old bulls for another stella day out.Im out for the next week or 2 but look forward to the next one.
Cheers boys.As I said in the other thread, I can’t imagine learning my way around that place as well as you guys know it so I’ll be investing in a GPS in the upcoming weeks and hopefully with some more time on the bike I can start to keep up for the full day because it was disappointing leaving the fun before it was done. Thanks for the helping hands through the day and for the great fun.
I have an alpine star bionic and the zip attaching the spine protector and kidney belt to the suit buggered up really quick. I thought about getting a new zipper stitched on but was told it’d be $50 or so
I think I’ll just give it to the old girl and ask her to stitch the two pieces together since they’re always worn together anyway. After that I’ll probably sell it because the kidney belt is too large for my apprentice pie guts.
Yeah he’ll definitely be keen to hit it fresh. He reckons we’re one for one now after he had to ride my bike up a couple of snotty hills at menai while I ducked off into the bush with gastro :X
I picked up most of the names through the day but I think it was the other young blokes that I couldn’t remember. Good bunch though and we’ll be looking forward to next time
Yeah I saw him rolling down through the trees and I think I was too nervous to laugh :p I reckon if Ollie caught it on film he’d get a good bidding war between ben and I
Yeah and he was 3rd time unlucky. I didn’t get to see it but he slightly impaled himself on a tree but no real damage except his pride.
I’m glad to hear that we didn’t hold you guys up because it felt like we might have and I think poor ollie was being pretty patient sweeping as I limped through that last section. I took a spill in one of the long rutted puddles and I’m not sure who it was behind me but he had the fear of death in his eye as he pleaded for me not to roost him
Ben found a hitch hiker when he took his boots off too, a little leech was getting a feed off his shin! I think he was more worried he might have another on his nuts though haha
Benno and I had a great time, it was just a shame that us young fellas couldn’t keep the pace up all day! It was great riding with you guys you really pushed us along and Ollie and Pete must have internal GPS navigating so well! Unfortunately when I got home I discovered that my camera batteries were flat so it would turn on and flash then just shut down so I got a few 2s clips and that’s all
Poor old benno was dirty he didn’t make it up that hill and asked me to thank moto for getting his bike up.
Cheers to all of you blokes for the great run and especially Ollie and P-Dub for leading, sweeping and cooking!
