Must have missed the news so it looks like a collar bone and ribs? Sound to me like the typical “welcome back to dirt bikes” crash. Bummer.
March 17, 2013 at 9:37 pm in reply to: DIY valve clearance check on a 08/09 KTM 400/450/530 EXC. #238396Nice one TB. If useful to anyone I use an old sheet cut to size to wrap around the frame/wires/cables to hold everything out of the way and stop dirt from falling into the engine.

Unintended Meatloaf reference.
There’s a great forest around those parts that we ventured in recently but unfortunately it’s fiercely protected by it’s surrounding farmers and the parks people. Would be nice to have somewhere local to cut some trails.

Yep the NP areas are great spots but don’t put a wheel off the main tracks or they will ass cane you. Shame really. They don’t let anyone take fallen timber anymore and they don’t maintain the forest for fire anymore so all us RFS blokes are shit scared of fire anywhere near them. It’s also interesting to note if there is any bushfire or car fires in a NP, RFS are not allowed to enter until requested by NPs themselves. :blink:Sharpie welcome and great intro there. Very flexible bike the DR, there are a heap of blokes here with “extended” experience of them (who may be riding other bikes but still secretly love them).
I’d say there are also many who have experience riding your way. If you like riding the tight tracks there are a heap of trails on the western side that are not so busy. CheersSame here. I definitely don’t have the bike for it. Ecks probably still has an ADV bike? He’s in Wellington again.

price is a little high I reckon
I suggested WR250R also as seat hight is 60mm lower
and very Good on the road.
Ollie
I’m with Ollie on this one WR250R would be ideal. TTR250 cheaper if you need to. I’ve owned a KTM250EXC-F – I don’t recommend it no matter how cheap.

Sorry Al, if I was Taxi then yes sure. I’m not this time – I’m the guest so I’m being Taxied. I didn’t realise so many bulls were going though. Hopefully there is someone else from Central West that can share the drive.
Sounds good Marty, I’m sure it will be hard to miss the rowdy bunch
I’m going to this. Haven’t put my entry in yet but will be end of week. Should be a nice casual putt putt.

Nice and shiny that KTM. Welcome OBT-KTM!
Ah used to ride Oaks/Oakdale and even down to Burrandong. Those were the days.
HB Matt!
My only suggestion is make sure those bolt holes line up so you don’t cross thread the tank mounting bolts. Very common mistake and a real PITA to fix.
