I have $152 right here. Who do I give it to to get one of those TB? It’s my birthday soon I need one. I can’t see many listings for them on the interweb.

    Whammo!!!!
I also have a mechanical engineer that rebuilds hyd cylinders for a living, I’ll spare him the delight. This one is done and dusted.

I don’t agree with most of that Jimmy.
There is gyro force there. Brak:ng will want to pull the wheel off its axis when restricted by one end of the axle. Steel and bolts flex. Forks do flex.

I’m not the expert here but in my opinion – no chance/no point. From my memory there were significant design changes at the least in 09/10.

This is a 2011 thread lads. After all was said and done I was right. Mick even proved it. Brake side leaks more often due to that side binding the fork more. It’s basic physics people! The pressure on the seal introduces more air into the fork on that side so it builds up more.

If it flogs out again I’ll just use more pieces of feeler gauge or some thicker gauge. Pretty bodgy but bodgy is my middle name. ;)

Let me translate that for you: “Thanks for everyone’s good ideas I’m going to go ahead with my super dodgy nasty one”. :D :D

Get a head re-conditioner to weld it up and machine it back. $100, surely.

i have purchased bearings from this place. the prolever link and swing arm for the 640, landed at my door for less than 1/2 what the dealers want for ‘genuine’.

that link takes you straight to their search, you use the drop down menus to find what bearings with a particular inner diameter and width is available in a particular outer diameter.

Sure, how long though? 4 weeks later? LOL

I love reading these threads. As if most of you guys (some notable exceptions) will own the car/bike long enough to ever see an issue with their engines!
450cc + should run whatever oil you like, sell the bike/car in 3 years and let it be someone elses problem! :D

Theres some product reviews or such on this topic raz, look around. TB started it I think. I have been using the cleaner and Motul oil they recommend. The cleaner is reusable.

Hate when that happens. I’m so pedantic I can’t fix anything, I end up “restoring” the whole thing …

Didn’t want to go there and be a Nigel so stayed home and spent the whole evening wishing I was there.
    Maybe next year.
