Not so much warming but more the case of drying, I ride mine around the streets after washing the oil the chain with real chain lube. Wd40 and such do more harm than good IMO. The chain warms up inevitably, helping the lube. To work into the links v

Good stuff, thanks for letting us know. I’m pretty sure my exp chamber is ceramic coated in some way, according to the last owner of it. Not 100% sure of it’s benefits in that application so here’s an opening for an expert explanation ;)

Hi Willo, welcome. There are at least 2 Dubbo riders on here.
Great to see some interest in the sport. Most of us take it easy and enjoy a ride together now and then. Minimum of a newish helmet, goggles, gloves and dirtbike boots. Anything else you injure that’s unprotected will not be life changing. Knees can be rebuilt fairly easily nowadays. Ribs hurt but won’t kill you. Elbows should just lose skin mostly. Anyway, get into some local rides and see how you go before handing the kids college fund over to Readfords for shiny gear.

Nup that’s more water than my Kato would be able to handle. Lucky you guys didn’t get flooded in there or washed away.

June is a lifetime away. Will give us slackers time to regain lost skills in the meantime. If there are any free spots left that is.

every time I change a rear sprocket I also change the bolts and nuts. when using the loctite I use the high strenth shit and also put it under the countersunk head just to be sure.

That’s spot on that. Should be budgeted in with all chain/sprocket upgrades. I use the stud locker loctite.
At very worst before you take off for a ride grab the rear sprocket with your glove and give it a wiggle. It will either be tight or loose.

Well done to the participants. It’s a great ride that. I will be attending the next one for sure.

Bit strange for a new one. I’ll tell you what might of happened there: the original nuts on KTMs are squashed oval nuts (to save money as nylocks would make the bikes $17k on the road). Old mate must of changed the gearing and used the same nuts again – ooops. Best use new bolts and nuts or at least nuts. Sounds like new hub time as the flogged out holes will never keep the nuts from coming loose over again.

In all seriousness, most would cough up for a new rod kit for piece of mind.

What can do however, is fix that big end yourself as best you can, throw it all back together and put an ad on ebay for it.
Buy yourself a new CRF and make a few cash offerings at your local religious establishment of your choice to pay off the bad karma.
