You wish. Looks like a “wrong line” issue to me. The WP forks said …. ‘no’.
Haha love this place. It’s just too hard to offend anyone
Hatto is right. Been there done that. KTM makes a kick arse road race bike – check. Two seater open wheeler style race car – check. Race winning quads – check. Electric enduro and motard race bike – check. What’s next I wonder? Why yes, of course! The KTM flying car? Might put a deposit down today. What a pathetic thread this turned into.
we can read just choose not to fuel this gay banter.
Who cares who owns what now days. If the car industry is anything to go buy any die hard would sell up and walk instead. There’s so many chinese parts on your jap bikes it would make you cry like a baby.
In the end if the bike is good or shit I don’t care what colour it is or who owns it. Being a 2 stroke fan we don’t really have many options nowdays. Maybe that’s why KTM is running outta money and Honda hasn’t : KTM 2strokes that are cheap to run and maintain without having to empty wallet for new CRF piston/ring/valves every year LOL.Good thinking mate. I am sure Mick would do the right thing. Best to trust someone you know well and not-for-profit, over local shops anyday. Good luck eh!

So Ecks, you got a local shop to do your suspension?? Once apon a time when the people that worked in such shops actually cared about their customers and had people work there that knew more than the average joe, yes I would have done the same. Not now. Most bike shops in my opinion are only for buying new bikes off the showroom floor like car dealers. I order all parts online and educate myself off this Internet thing. It would pain me to send my suspension away to an expert but if that is what had to be done then I probably would. Then I would pull them all apart and check they did it right.
Just a quick thanks to all the smokers out there. Some of us non smokers appreciate how hard it is for you guys. If they reduce the tax/excise or you guys reduce smoking the Gov’nt will end up jacking up fuel or alcohol excise and I wouldn’t want that, I mean WE wouldn’t want that.
As per KTM05’s response. I would burn the carbon out first then cut it up and de-restrict. You would be amazed what’s in the chamber. Some have reinforced ribs, some even have steel mesh or wire in there.I have a WR200 and probably wouldn’t bother adapting that to a DT. The WR pipe is quite heavy. Get an ebay search going for DT/WR pipes. Sometimes you can score an AM unit to adapt.
Hi guys,
I attended this accident that day. On the way it was a report of an MVA near Balimore. I thought “bugger, 100km/hr head-on on the highway, won’t be pretty”. Few minutes later we heard over the 2way of it being a motorcyclist fatality there. Few minutes later again it was not on the highway but on a side dirt road. Dirt bikes then, darn it. A lot of us ride out there from Dubbo to Goonoo forest. I didn’t know any of them but was told the victim and son were from Gilgandra, which later found was not correct. Both were trail riding in the crown land/reserve between the highway and the properties along the highway. The road they were on was a simple dirt road from the highway to the front gate of a property, probably 400m long that runs along the base of a hill (yes a hill in Dubbo). Last time I rode there I ended up with a pinched HD tube from rocketing up that rocky hill…
Sparing everyone the details the important lesson I guess is that many tragedies occur due to a “series of events” and sometimes these do happen. My best guess at these “series of events” were:
1) Dirt road probably gets 5 cars a day – at that exact second, there was a GU Patrol right there.
2) We don’t get alot of rain here anymore – right now the grass near the road is nice and long (1m) because of the rain. The road sweeps around the hill and it’s a blind corner no doubt about it. This time last year they may have seen the other vehicle coming over that grass.
3) Sunday morning was a nice ride day. Few bikes about. Pretty good chance of finding a bike power sliding a nice dirt road.So that 1 time in 1,000,000 a bike power slides around a corner there just might be a 4WD there to slide into sideways and end up dragged under.
We were all pretty sure the poor fellow died on impact. Protective gear really would not of helped. If he hit straight on or with the bike more upright he may have survived going over the BBar, maybe not. Who knows.
We were all very sorry for his son who saw the whole thing behind his dad. Considering the circumstances as I mentioned above, it will be a tough one to live with for rest of his life doing what you and your dad enjoyed together. Very tough.Anyway, I’ll be sure to keep that experience in the back of my mind next time I’m hurtling through the bush, I can tell you. Then again, when it’s your time to go, it’s your time to go.
Haha I bet you do. Won’t be touching anything coming from there mate. Heard too many sad stories.
Cheers guys.
I’ve just been getting fatter and uglier without my riding fixes.
Problem with my effort is the GPS put pressure close to the shoulder end of the clavicle, the plate is therefore fairly high up. Dr has warned me that dropping on it again will obviously break the bone at the edge of the plate even further along. What they would have to do from there wouldn’t be pretty. Pin won’t work because of the existing plate weakened bone….can’t use a plate there because theres not much to screw to…
Best I stay away from temptation. Kato was going well thanks for asking TB. I hit the ground at 2km/h hopping a fallen tree. I don’t think “speed was a factor”, nor was it’s refined PDS suspension. I’d say fatigue, heat (was the hottest weekend of the year) and bad luck was THE factor.
I’ve been hanging for another ride that way Murf. Really did top my list for last year. I’ve got to build some fitness and strength up whilst I wait.
I have an old MQ Wagon SD33. Free of course. It’s run of the mill MQ really, sunrasias, lots of steel front and back to intimidate. Only has 470kk on it but it’s real value is it runs on free fuel now – that is: “carbon neutral”. Did a long run to Vic and back but didn’t have enough free fuel so had to cough up $50 for some diesel to get me home. Keeping an eye out for a GU TD4.2 wagon on the web to upgrade to in the next few months and will set her up the same.G’day guys, thought I’d update as some are wondering where I’ve disappeared to and if I’m still alive.
Happy Easter to all.
The recovery is a tad slow. Easter was waaaaaaay optimistic. I can’t remove the plate till Aug/Sept and then have to wait 6 months after that until the screw holes weld up.
I’m pretty sure that the GPS I had on my Camelback strap was the cause of the break. It broke very near to the shoulder so a plate was the only option.
I’ve decided to sell the KTM300 begrudgingly but it shouldn’t sit there for more than a year… It’s all finally setup after spending lots of money and time on it so I’m plenty annoyed with the circumstances. If anyone is interested PM me. It will be on bikesales next week.
Been working on a project Nissan Patrol in the meantime which is nearing completion so will spend some more time online here soon enough.
Cheers,
AxelGossip! It was merely a challenge of man Vs machine. Machine won, this time.
Not happy Jan.
Currently staying cool at the Workies.
Did a couple hrs over Ben Bullen. It’s just too hot. Even for me.
Praying it cools down overnight. When I saw it he was running a Hyde robotek unit.
Yep sure am.
I’ll show for extravaganza but won’t ride unless a miracle happens. I’ll just come and visit to be social. Will bring the Mrs over if I can but chances are she will want to sleep all weekend as she has court non stop for 2 weeks. -
