If all goes well on Sat then you may have 2 more willing for Sunday. Didn’t know the Wattagans had more than one day riding? :) You obviously know the area well?

The link didn’t seem to arrive at the intended destination but I found what you were talking about nonetheless TB.
I’d say most of us have seen the linkage on and off for some time now. It’s still not certain that the PDS will disappear. They will have to replace it on all the models at once or risk killing sales on either bikes. I like many owners, don’t care for linkages. I would have preferred they spent from 98 to 07 getting the f’n frame and forks working so they steer and handle like they were supposed to. I swear, anything pre 08 should be …. cheaper.
Not looking forward to the hours pulling linkages apart, cleaning, greasing, pressing out the old ones, forking out $200 for a new set and pressing them back in. My current PDS heim has a waterproof cover over it, maintenance free.

Yes, nothing that’s right. Like any bike really, as long as they are maintained…. B)

You’re welcome to come along Sat if you’re in the area mate. From what I hear the grade shouldn’t trouble you :) You can show me how to ride a 300 2 stroke as well :P

I might see if I can ditch these Metzeler 6 days tyres before the weekend too.

G’day Moto, appreciate the welcome. I’m surprised TB hasn’t had a dig about KTMs yet :)
Not sure about showing you how to ride these beasts, if you have questions I should have answers :D
Dunno about your Metzies, I heard they weren’t too bad. I’ll have to round up a set of tyres for myself as it looks like it’s wet over there. It’s an annoying time of year to buy tyres now we are coming into the dry/hot season. Might swap the Carlsbad back on when it dries up.
Will keep in touch with our plans.

Hi guys, I was going to start a new thread up (might still do). A couple of Dubbo OBT riders are heading for the hills for 3 days riding this weekend (Sat/Sun/Mon). We were planning Watties and Clarence in no particular order. I see this ride is running Sat. If it’s ok we are interested in either joining this ride or if there are any that can’t make Sat and would like to ride Sunday or Monday let me know either way.
We are no longer up to date with the Wattagan loops (been years for both of us) but we can lead around Clarence if we have to (will talk about that in another thread). We ride 300 2 strokes (enough said) :) . Fully regoed and self sufficient of course. We are prepared to ride on our own if we have to which is not as much fun.

Mine is a simple anagram of my real name. Axel is Still a real name and a missspelt motorcycle term obviously.

That’s Grant’s trailer. Took some brain work and effort to get it to that state.
RHS chassis, aluminium sheet over steel skeleton. Checker plate nose. Not as heavy as it looks. That IS a Volvo towing it you see.
There is a cover that slides into aluminium rails in the edge of each lid so when it is opened up there is a cover across the top.
A little more to do to waterproof the nose and it’s nearly finished.

I will post some pics I took shortly.

On behalf of Grant and Myself, thanks for the ride guys. It was nice to meet some more members and enjoy a new set of trails.
Shame we didn’t try and stick together for more of the ride but that’s the way it goes sometimes. I think we actually got more ride time in I guess. By the end of the day we were hunting around for new single. We weren’t looking hard enough I guess! :)
Hopefully the “rocks on rocks” won’t wreak havoc on my forearms so much next time. Being chased by 650s makes me nervous :)
Grant was super keen to ride as always, Rocket idled the big 530 around all say incident free and Bob despite a couple of drops and a barkbuster malfunction, looked to have had a great time and rode real well. Till next time.

Don’t care how close it is, I got burnt so bad from the A4DE Orange it won’t ever happen again, DBP or no DBP. “Maintain a high standard”? Better surpass it or nobody will show up.

Confused why you did the cam chain so early.
I looked at mine at 5000k and saw no reason to do it. I owned mine since new.
They are a pretty impressive bit of chain and would have to be stretched to madness to break I believe.
    I guess it’s done now.
Man do you have to move on from that bike :)
My biggest dilemma nowdays is whether I wash my 2 stroke and not whether its going to make it to the end of the ride….Dirt bike riding fun had returned.

Brilliant. Will rustle up another participant if Rocket comes along. This stage 2, hopefully 4 by tomorrow.

We will meet you at the railway crossing at Clergate on Clergate Lane at around 10 – 10.30 remembering we have a way to travel

    TB

OK shakers and bakers, baby jesus’ and spider monkeys, it’s all coming together.
We will be at that said meeting point from 10am sharp suited up bikes on trailer. Will wait till 11am then head to the forest ourselves.

Our smokers only do 80km/h comfortably so it would be good not to hold you all up. At this stage there is only 2 from Dubbvegas.

Nice work Moto! I’ll let all my 2-stroke mates know to be on the lookout for the 300 on Bikesales.com.au in the next couple of months once you get sick of mixing fuel and having no engine braking!

    Now that’s rude.

He’ll sell it for one reason and one reason only: he crashes his brains out on it.

Otherwise he will rise to the challenge and be one of an elite few that “has finally learned his lesson” and will look down on small bore 4 strokers from that day forth…

Also, let me know when it’s ready to pick up Moto, I’ll go and fetch it for you and will drop it off at your place all fueled up and … run in. :) :P
