HB Ollie, sounds like you had a great day with the family.
Hi lads thanks very much. Nundle didn’t work out this time for me Boze but I’m keen to get up that way for a spin.
Well done LC. “Go the [strike]Rat[/strike] Fat”
I think I made the right decision this time. 10C hotter than the forecast, yikes. Hope it rains alls I can say.
October 24, 2014 at 12:24 am in reply to: 50 or close to it, or come along with some old Dudes ride #259997I’m all set to go but have to pull out. Spewing. Have a nice ride all, I’ll try again next time.
Saw that last week and he sent them an email – no reply.
Mates worried about it being suitable for 2007 300 EXC. There are differences, some known, some unknown between 07 – 11 models. As an example, 07 head orings and ring grooves are different just between 07 and my 08. The Kangaroo kit lists for 08-15. The exhaust flange is apparently different however I’m borrowing his 07 pipe on my 08 so not sure there.
I’d say without it stating it fit’s 07 he won’t risk it.
The 07 model is basically 06 SX and older design bike.Yep. Bit of bad luck. The nikasil looks like a bubble the size of 5c piece below the where the rings reach to.
Thanks for posting that up. The part number is gold. The problem is there are no kits in the country. KTM can’t indicate if there will be any on the way either. May be discontinued. Mate here will choose replating I think. It’s already a 300, just wanted a factory solution.

Luke Charlesworth what did you end up buying in the end? Have you had any issues with assembly or running?
A mate here has found a defect in his cylinder coating and is looking into options.Worth it to watch Pastrana do 3 runs on that crazy 500 2T
October 13, 2014 at 10:30 am in reply to: 50 or close to it, or come along with some old Dudes ride #259876Murph it looks like just me from the wild west again. 5hr drive and will camp wherever we start from.
If you can accommodate a place for my little tent for Saturday night that would be great.
Leave for home Sunday avo.Luke Charlesworth wrote:Cheers Axel. I didn’t measure the o-ring before popping it in. Will do tonight. May even try a slightly thicker one maybe??I only say this because a mate did exactly the same – replaced the lot (good idea). Found oil in the morning. Put the new O-ring up against the old one and they were not the same thickness/size. Ordered one from Boltons and it came in a KTM part labelled bag – correct size = no leak.
October 9, 2014 at 12:56 am in reply to: 50 or close to it, or come along with some old Dudes ride #259824I’m waiting if I can find someone to share the drive Murph. At this stage still a good possibility.
Wrong size O-Ring. Depending on how dodgy your dealer is they either give you the correct sized one (KTM) or something from the local bearing shop that is the wrong size/dimension.
