Gday guys, no offence taken whatsoever. I’m old hand at technology, I know what the deal is. I would have gone to Nundle but only became a forum member last week so had no time to prepare! I’ll try and join some rides like I said so I get to know some people. There is always trepidation when it comes to new people joining rides. My references are Ecks-Man, White rocket and Mal5.1 off the top of my head,
have ridden with them and lead some rides. I’m mid 30s have ridden since I was 10 married blah blah so I’m no teen unreg motocross hero. Anyway, have fun this weekend wherever you are riding!
Maybe so, but the title of the thread was not about any specific ride. If it said Wattagans there, I wouldn’t have post in here.
Just thought that those reading that didn’t want to do Wattagans have another option – i guess.
No drama, mine is a half assed offer really, as only a few readers here know me so I didn’t expect any takers anyway. I have a better chance joining a OBT ride than leading one at this stage here.
CheersNah I think he is correct in the first place. The lugs on the base of the frame are for a center stand. I had a similar year bike. Not that it matters really…. but I think your referring to the bolt holes in the frame for hard parts skid/bash plates which came out in later year models.
Anyone riding in the mountains this weekend Sat/Sun? Lithgow/Clarence/Oberon/Mugee/SunnyC? We might have a crew of 2 – 4 coming across from out west. Would be good to meet some new people and maybe see some new trails.
If not, we will be heading up regardless and probably camp Sat night and freeze our as_es off. We know our way around there reasonably well (Newnes/Lithgow) and stay away from Zig Zag unless we pick up Sydney folk.
Cheers,AxelCoincidently, we have to make a couple for our 2smokers and have been trying to work out the best way for weeks. We have carbonf, various alum sheets and a TIG welder. I’m keen on an aluminium skid plate into a carbonf expansion chamber idea, but not final. If you want to make your street sign stronger, you can carbonf or fibreg the back of your aluminium, similar to what they do to airplanes. Makes it much stronger. We are going to use similar thickness alum.
Great bikes from that era. A good friend still has one, all blue plastics, very unique for a kato. I guess the only real issue I found with the bike (same as my ’00 250) were the harsh forks that would beat me up. Everything else was pretty good. Lots of bottom end. Lots.

You talking about the Pro 2 or the Comp2 Plus, Bruce?

We trained over the back of Canolobolas for a few weeks and enjoy putting some loops together through the pines. I’m not the best with directions, prefer to follow the leader haha!
Thanks for the info XY, the only ride we do down that way that’s “organised” would be the 1000k ride later in spring. I prefer smaller group rides <10.
Bruce Cee reminds me of Hivis from memory….? Good evening.
Just watching the replay of Mark Webber’s win. All the planets aligned for him the other day. Just about to sniper an ebay item.
This forum has RSS feeds? Nice!
Cheers STM, only been out here a couple years, I don’t ride here much. Didn’t come here for the riding I’ll tell you that much. We travel to Orange, Lithgow and NE Victoria occasionally for rides. Have to get across through the Hunter for some rides soon.
Thanks guys. Gday Mal, yep I was amongst the crew at Orange. I managed 2nd best result from our small Dubbo City contingent. Was an absolute shocker of an event as you all probably heard… ah well live and learn.
Yes, we had a ride together with Patto some time ago up at Clarence. Have to get back up that way soon. Now I have a bike again will be good to come out to the seaboard for some rides with some new people. -
