Well its 3 years since this thread and I never was able to start it in gear, my new 07 wouldn’t either but on advice I had Hot Cams installed and starts in gear fine and no more top dead centre yet either.

I should also mention that we were a bit under the weather on the pork chop day. Plenty of beer, tequila, home made whiskey and brownies after 2 days riding makes day 3 pretty tough. Probably the reason Ev didn’t make it up the hill but you get that on the big jobs!!!!!

I was never gunna make it but it was fun trying, never ridden on shale its tricky stuff , 2 years ago when I was fit I would’ve dragged it up but I don’t have the strength or stamina anymore.
thanks for the vids dude, and hats off to LC for making it and organizing the ride, 3 of the 4 days were some of the best riding ive done, and as I said in the other thread LCs urban romaniacs ride was the most unique ride ive ever done, hell be up here in a month so ive been throwing cash at my bike so I can try to keep up with him but money cant buy talent

My old WR450 09 and my new 07 would not start in gear, so I feel your pain rocking it to get it into neutral on a hill means you slide backwards over the root or rock you just got over, it sux.
Even on flat stuff it sux, one of the guys I rode with at batemans bay swears hot cams will fix this, ive just ordered some ill let you know if it works.
For the money your talking it seems a bit risky to swap

Some of the best single trails ive ever ridden.
highlights were haks highway at Nowra probably the best trail ive ever ridden on the pegs and 1st gear the whole way, huge rock slabs and deep crevasses one challenge after another but nothing impossible we got a dozen bikes through with no dramas.
But the best was Tuesday, LCs urban romaniacs loop was the most unique ride iv done, one minute in the main street of Woonona then into his practice tracks on mt Bulli they had sand, dirt, rocks, mud, step ups, step downs, scrub, bush rainforest the most diverse couple of acres ive seen and he was on fire I hit reserve after 50ks and he was still leaving me for dead.
Then pull out on to the princess highway then pull off in a 110k zone straight into a single track, plus some other stuff I wont mention here  its a must do ride
a great 4 days, good to meet AL and Hatto and to catch up with Dude, Adam and Sam was as stylish as ever he makes everyone else look like clumsy oafs
I should also say, before LC does, I got dominated by Pork Chop hill and he made it.

Good from far but far from good.

No one buy this bike! It is incapable of riding up steep hills.

Incapable?? ive watched as it made it up plenty of hills. you just point it in the general direction and stand back

id be happy with$3500 but im gunna try for a bit more.
everything works and it flogs KTMs weekly, and im honest about the hole in the airbox sealed with heatproof tape and some frame damage that’s been repaired, it is a Yamaha my mate did 20000ks before a rebuild.
