    Thanks Bones,
had a sit on one yesterday and yeah one of the first things i’d do would be to stiffen the suspension and i had heard about the front brakes. After the TTR the seat felt very comfortable to me – lol.
was looking on youtube for footage of them offroad but all i could find was europeans riding through big puddles

thanks again guys, the knowledge that gets shared on this site is awesome :cheer:

may be a while, had a few nasty expenses so debts are up,
was contemplating a KLE500 as the reports that i have seen mention that it is a decent adventure bike and with a change of tyres is not too bad on the single trails……
too may to choose from – lol

    still don’t get it, :S
the bike costs X on its own, each year you pay rego and ctp on top of the cost of the bike, when you insure they ask the cost of the bike to replace not the cost of rego etc, so yeah you should get the refund of the rego and all that, but what does that have to do with the insurance guys?.
must be the same with cars i guess, I have just never had to claim before

Didn’t know the insurance co’s deducted rego and green slip, whats that got to do with market value? Must be in the fine print somewhere.

was unaware also, that is why i put it in here to let people know. was insured with NRMA maybe the others don’t?????

well the insurance company paid me out, happy with that,
just wasn’t aware that they take the excess off. so $5200 – $600 ok can live with that,
but what confused me is that they then deduct the cost of rego and greenslip from the payout as well, and expect you to recover that from the RTA.
Didn’t realise I was insuring my registration as well??????? – bastards

‎2 drunks visit a brothel. The Madam takes a look at them and says to her manager “go put inflatable dolls in 2 bedrooms, these guys are too drunk to notice”. During the walk home one guy says ” I think my girl was dead, she never moved or made a sound”. The second guy says ” I think mine was a witch” “why do you think that?” asks the friend. “well, I bit her ass, she farted in my face and then flew out of the friggin’ window!”

15000km on it now and never had a problem except for some failed wheel bearings (my fault) and an electrical problem which was again my fault when I didn’t route the wires properly after fitting a steering dampener.

the TTR had over 22,200 on the clock and was still going strong – lol – before some grub relieved me of it.

thanks for the huge amount of feedback guys, really appreciate it. and if i could get someone to look after the shop for a saturday i’ll be busting to get out with youse with whatever i get.
the Sunny Corner pics looked great fun.
I hadn’t considered a 650 as I had a mate who had one – he loved it but reckons he steered with the rear wheel in the dirt (which would probably be pushing my skill level (at the moment) and now has a DRZ400

DR650 Bender, will suit what you do better then a DR400. You don’t do any serious single trail from what I have seen, the 650 has longer service intervals, is cheaper to buy and better on the bitumen which I think you do a little off? Also is oil cooled if the water cooling worries you (which it really shouldn’t IMO)

Sunday check the site, a project that may interest you will be revealed here on OBT

Fair Point, I don’t do as much single trail as I’d like, but i do get out when I can and it is something that I want to do more off.
I like the option of touring and camping off the bike which i do when I can also – it’s all about versatility for me – lol

    Thanks guys,
the 650 may be too much bike for me Scotty,
and how would the WR handle highway runs with gear??, TTR used to struggle uphill a little with gear and my barge arse on it which is why i was looking at the DRZ??

Thanks DRool, yeah was parked out the front, rang the local wreckers, and tyre places and bike shops, as the will only get it going by hotwiring the ignition, and or replacing it. It also has 70/30’s on it so anyone wanting to cain it will try and swap the tyres for something more aggressive
    grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
