excellent report, thx Nick, I’ve always wondered about the new crf’s, great to hear something worthwhile from someone who knows… I won’t ever get one cos I like my older bikes, but good to know nevertheless… wheelspin and traction, fun factor without killing ourselves lol…. I too find the xr250 faster/easier to ride sections in than (in my case) the 650… definitely different styles/techniques of riding to get them where we want to and how they want to :)

Hiya Nick… yeh it’s great having the choice of what to ride…. been real hot here lately and riding late afternoons is the way to go… best way to end the day after work :)

There are a few bike parks to ride that get maintained by the authorities, but I live a short ride from the hills (darling scarp) theres stacks of tracks up there…. i’ve been riding around there since a teen…. just gotta watch out for the roos :cheer: …. the other day big boomer was stretched out on the track in the shade having a nap…. don’t know who was more surprised as i came around the corner me or him! the younger ones really get a shift on as they tear off down the track in front…. im sure they do it for fun  gotta love Oz!

has a cbf1000 (biffer) for some touring, but riding a dirt bike on a gravel track or a bit of a challenge is alot more fun…… hopefully these old middle aged bones will let me ride for a while yet :laugh
the xr650 has long legs and plenty of oooomph the xr250 is light an so easy/fun to ride
the pe250 im second owner and had for over 30 years….. just need to fit some new rear shocks… bikes have progressed alot since those days

    all good fun
