Quote:How far you want to go on one tank Al? Do you want incorporated fins/shrouds?Incorporated Shrouds:
Safari 28 Liter (Holds more)
Safari 17 Liter (Holds heaps more)
IMS 17.5 Liter (Holds only a little more)No shrouds but use stock:
Clark 14 Liter
IMS 12 Liter
Acerbis 15 LiterThe Safari Tanks are a fixed price so getting from USA won’t be any cheaper.. All other tanks can be purchased from Just Gas Tanks in the USA..Gday Krusty, I think a 15L tank would be the go, I borrowed a 21L off a mate on my xr 600 and it was very unstable in the gravel, on the roads we were on.
I have been averaging 20-21 Kilometers per liter on the Adventure rides..
Cheers…

Quote:Just after people opinions on how young is to young for a kid to start riding. I ask because the other week i brought my young bloke (3 1/2 Years old) a 50cc quad which had a remote controlled shut off and can be governed down to a crawl. It also has a pull strap on the back which also cuts the motor out.
I understand from reading that kids up to around 7 years old cant do more than one thing at a time eg brake and change down gears at the same time.Opinions ?????????
Note he hasnt riden it yet.
Jak I started corey8 and nathan off on a pw 80 nathan was only 4.

I don’t think you will find it happening too much mate, especially off road. Just a thoughtyour right their Jeffro I would never have it wound flat out off road. I was thinking more of the advantages of bigger bore bikes on adventure rides and wondering if I could acheive this with the lighter DRZ.
TB- I have fitted bigger bore kits to small engine road bikes in the past and it certainly wore then out quicker than if left alone but they were much higher revving 2 strokes so I didn’t know if this would apply to the Drz. Sounds like it would, and the whole point of owning the Drz is reliability.
Nick I have ridden adventure bikes and weve had drz400s on the ride standard, they are a great bike as is you’ve done the suspension thats all you need to do.
CheersNick

Won’t do it until after the corner… But I will be replacing everything but shrouds as mine are in good nik.. Standard rear and side panels.. I will most likely use an RM250 or RMZ450 front as I think they look better.. Then sending to T and C for complete coverage.. Some sort of bling or semi bling.. I just want them covered..
Yellow fenders and shrouds, white side panels..
Hope thats what you were after
might wait till you do your bike see what it looks like and then make a decision,I’ll see you at the coffs ride in november.
