BellingenEv wrote:Big thanks to Burnsey and Al we spent allday clearing trails there were trees every 100 mtrs for the first 3 hours and it didnt get much better.
If you like flowing 3rd gear singles with no ruts or obsticles you will hate this ride.
Al had a good view of me flipping it in 4th on a tar road, luckily the chainsaw broke my fall and the bike looks the same as it did before, just hope we dont get too much rain this week.A go pro was in order for that one ev it was a case of going going gone  my head sure does hurt after neally knocking my self out on a log I didn’t see it riped me clean off the bike
Were starting to prune the peaches tomorrow but I should be right for sunday
BellingenEv wrote:Just had the day from hell, went to check the damage for this ride, after the big storm in march, unloaded, tyre was flat, pull it off, steel belting in tyre was snapped and had poked a hole in the tube bloody retread was so unbelievably hard to get on i snapped the belting.
Put the tyre back on drove home and put an old tyre on, went back couldnt get up the fist 30m too wet no tyre, detoured 10ks of highway got up there and the damage was insane and with no traffic for the last 2months the trails were terrible, cut about 20 trees in 1k, got the saw stuck 45min to get it out .
Dropped into a single trail thinking if i get stuck at least Ill have the chainsaw to make a way out, broke the chain on the next tree, had to keep going.
Got to a wet peice of shit hill covered in crap and a log across the top of it, had to cut a 2inch wide wedge with a handsaw and prize chips out with a tyre lever took 2 hours.
Went down the bottom to have another go battery was flat bike wouldnt kick over, another hour of kicking and screaming and starting to get late.
Luckily a local heard me carrying on like a pork chop and came down to see what was happening, i must have sounded angry because he brought his gun, he helped me up and showed me the easy home.
Net result cost me 200 bucks cleared 1.5kShoulda givin me a yell ev I would of come along and given you a hand after the work you help me put in on bush to beach
james wrote:Do you think that ktm have it right then Nick with the 350 in the middle, and the other manufacturers should follow suit CRF 350x :unsure:Back in the 80,s and 90,s Honda had a 350 so did Yamaha and Suzuki they were a great ride I had a tt350 and raced and trail rode it for a couple of years so what happen to that trend? or were ktm just a bit slow to make one.
chuck me on the list please ev
Thanks for all the b,day wishes having a great time on the great ocean road in vic been on the road for nearly a month now I could get you,s to this
How did you go alex?
And im in vic so catch up next month
Thanks to everyone who turned up to make this an enjoyable ride. In the lead up to this ride the weather was terrible, But we did have a week of fine weather, until murph and Dude turned up and brought the rain with them. Thank goodness it was only over night and Saturday was perfect day. We rode from my place out to the Macksville side of the ride where Ev took over the lead, The first part of the track a week before was in excellent condition but in the week before the ride the loggers had gone through so we cut that section out. The trails were in excellent condition and minimal dust. The ride moved at quiet a quick pace. With a very capable ride group nobody was left behind, As Murph mentioned about Burnsy and the bee’s you find out who your friends are when you are all yelling at him to keep away as he ran up the hill bringing the bee’s with him.I made a hasty retreat into the gully. The trails were very challenging and the little 250 suffered on some of the hills from lack of talk so a 450 maybe in the wind. The only injury of the day was Ev he hurt his ribs and couldn’t do the 2nd day he left on sunday morning. The food at the Pub with no beer was excellent. Sunday we woke to another perfect day Murph and Dude left to go home, so six headed out for the sunday ride about 9 and had a blast on the mountain, a few trees down so we did a bit of log hopping but had a blast. the pace was on we would of rode more than 3 hours but Burnsy was getting tired and steve had a big off, high light of Saturday night took the big Tv out to the shed a watched all the days Vids on the big screen. Thanks again to all the guys for a very memorable ride, And a big thanks to Ev for all the work he put in your a champ mate.
We hope your ribs are ok.Looking forward to Nato’s, Ev’s and Dudes vids.Bigger al
