John Hall passed away today yesterday after a long illness. John was a mainstay of Enduro sport in this country for a very long time, he served on many Australian ISDE teams in various senior roles and his knowledge of the sport is irreplaceable. He was the father of the A4DE in Australia and bought the ISDE to Australia in 1992 at Cessnock. His accomplishments throughout the Australian enduro scene are beyond comprehansion in every aspect of the sport. Our sport in Australia owes much to this gentleman.

John was the TM importer for the boutique Italian bikes. He helped develop the bikes, giving feedback to the factory and steered Cross Country Action Motorcycles to being the biggest per capita TM marketer outside of Italy.

    Rest in peace

(Thanks to DBW and the MA websites)

I just read a great interview with him in one of the dirtbike mags a week or so back.

It’s very sad when the good ones go.

    RIP.

The first ride up at Wauchope it felt pretty good except for the fact that thelever was too high which meant I usually stompped on it once I found it. I adjusted it down before this ride but it felt a bit soft but that may have just been the slippery mud making it feel less effective.

I had a problem with missing the rear brake pedal I ended up getting a slightly larger pedal extension and that seems to have helped.

Thats the nain reason I have my trail bikes insured, not in case I hit someone. For about $300 comp. cover with Insure my ride it is much less worry.

 That’s a good reminder for me that I haven’t insured the Berg yet, will do it today.

I’ve got full comp on the Berg with Insure My Ride – cost $210.00 from memory – agreed value $8500.00 plus $1500.00 worth of extras.

I still have it chained to the floor of the garage and have my road bike next to it so they have to move it to get to the Berg, road bike is alarmed.

Hey Jeffro how do you find the feel of the rear brake on the berg?

Mine just grabs as soon as you touch it, I have tried to give it more feel without to much success so I have just got a new rear solid disk last week, they say that should give me better feel.

    Hi Eags,

I have a pair of PodMX knee braces and I will not ride without them, the new Pod K700 are little bit lighter. You maybe able to find the PodMX a bit cheaper because of the release of the Pod K700.
I was luck to find a pair up for auction on eBay in the US and got them for $450au delivered (normal price $500 ea.) they were brand new still in the box and the correct size.

If I were you I would check eBay out for what ever quaility brace you can find, you never know your luck, I got lucky.

I like the Berg looks very sweet!

Big jump going from a DRZ to FE550E, how was the power difference?

    <<<<>>>>

I feel your pain…stupid useless kick start :( I had the same problem a few weeks back. I got a new battery installed and it is perfect now….only problem is it takes about 1 to 2 hours to install the battery, you need to take the carby off.

Also a tip when bum starting the Berg…pull the decompression lever in….helps heaps.

Adrian I am very happy with the Perelli Scorpions MX Tyres that we put on my bike for the Kenda. I did a very, very muddy ride last week and they were fantastic.

You also watched me go straight up that step rocky section on the Kenda, they have handled everything I have thrown at them.
