Have been reading a bit of this thread and there are two sides to the story and some will go one way and some the other
personally I haven’t had my bike for long i had 15 yrs without a bike (that was a mistake to start with)
I bought a second hand bike it lasted a while worked out its what i wanted to do again
Had to spend some money on it
went to 4 local bike shops in 3 different towns , i’m a tight arse
trying to find information and some prices

I got screwed over big time they were all c..ts and ripped me off from little things to big things over a period of time and told me i needed this that and everything
wanted to do this wanted to do that , i’m not a bike mechanic and don’t want to be i’ve got enough other stuff to fix i just want to ride it

so i don’t know a lot about it , maybe i asked too many questions and they thought heres a chance to make a quick buck
if i wasn’t a tight arse and made them put it back together at two different shops i would be a lot poorer
So as far as i’m concerned they can bash it up there arse
one has since gone broke and another sold out
No i didn’t try some of the sponsors ,some may not have been here at the time can’t remember but i didn’t want to take my bike anywhere inconvenient
have since found a local guy who does it on his own from a small shed in a local town and he rebuilt my bike did a good job at an excellent price
but as for apparrel and things i then went to a well known one that strts with B they were better had what i wanted but didn’t seem to give a shit so i’ve moved on and at the moment i’m buying O/s
its my money and to be honest i think a fair % of home grown enterprises want too much
yes there operating costs are/may be higher here but so are consumers living costs
I wholesale and retail things in a different industry and know what happens in it and how much people can and will mark things up
there is a word for the society that we live in but i can’t think of it at the moment
anyway when our local arseholes go broke some one will start up again or the odd one that provides service with a smile and at a reasonably competitive price will prosper

Thats my rant BLA Bla BLA

    Fire away
