it’s OK Roy….its allright to be curious
its gotta be good…it’s a Honda :woohoo:
i quite like the accesories
Bol :woohoo:
Well…i now have all the information i need to do up a bit of a post on the CRF 450 x that i rode on this ride :cheer:
Obviously , i was as nervious as a cat tied to a bunny at a Greyhound race at Dapto
After all the advice i got on the power of this bike i intended to take it pretty bloody easy
First 20 mtrs , the bikes front wheel was in the air for 10 of those :woohoo:
I was very impressed the way the bike powered along in the open stuff, but it nearlly rooted me in the tight singles. And thanks to Snowy, they were some of the “tightest” singles i have ever been on
Now…i’m not taking anything away from this bike for its ability to run in singles…the real issue is that you have to be fit to handle it.That of which i am not  ..i haven’t ride a dirt squirter since Coffs back in November and my fitness level is non exhistant  .So it is now my mission to get “fit” to ride the beast. It’s abit like taking on a new girlfriend that is a shagging machine and if your a fat over weight bastard and you want to try and keep up you gotta do some thing about it(hyperthetical of course )
The Honda was making a terrible rattling noise, sounded like a bloody Tiger tank  .this noise shocked a few of the lads and Steve and Damous had a look at the bike and decided..hmmmm…not good..better nurse it back to camp..i explained that when i bought it the dealer said the noise was natural and typical of Hondas with bash plates on  …bullshit i thought and made a deal with them that this weekend would be a test ride and if it shit itself they would have it back in their shop on Monday
.So with that in mind i said “Tally Ho” lets keep riding !!! :cheer: ..10 minutes later the noise stopped…hmmm..oh well..away we go :cheer:
Only when we got back to camp did we notice a bit of steel sticking out of the casing and a heap of oil bubbling out
Game over for Bollocks..Beeing a Honda i probably could have riden it again,as it had been ripping around the bush with its guts hanging out any way…Tough tough Bikes..if it was a Kato it would have cried like a bitch then curled up and died  …What happened was “the primary gear at the end of the crank broke off:
Just got off the phone to Rocket at Ride Motorcycles Tamworth. They will have all fixed up,plus new fork seals and sythetic racing oil,new set of rings, new top end gasket set,fix the casing and the gearing and the end of the crank and adjust the suspension to suit my fat arse
ALL AT NO COST TO ME :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:
Great bunch of blokes :cheer:
I have said it time and time again, support your local dealers and they will support you.In a nutshell…i love the bike..but i have to lose the love handles
Thanks Boony and Snowy for a great weekend, and cheers to all the good blokes we rode with :woohoo:

Good to see a KTM rider with a sense of humor Rebore..and a very vivid imagination.
Do i have to do a 3 year mechanics course to become a KTM rider ?
Is that what you mean by “slowly”
Bol :woohoo:Spot on Kram…started on this web site riding a Honda XR 400…until i broke the frame in half
To answer your question Roy…will be looking into a 21 l tank, cush drive hub,oil kit and all the extra bits to turn it into a long range machine aswell :cheer:
Should cost somewhere between $1200 and $1600 and then i have the best of both worlds at hand.
Might even go in the Australian safari and kick some arse  …not likely
Looking forward to belting the shitouta myself this week end, thanks all for your kind words and i will let you know how it goes
