By the sounds of it the castle nut wound so far up the stub axle the split pin was too far from the nut. The nut then unwound itself to meet the split pin to the point where the wheel was loose. I guess the vibrations would have annoyed you enough to stop before the hub broke off.

    Ummm,,,,, yeah???

everything was in place mate, it was just that the system was warn and the nut could rotate anticlock wise a small distance, thus loosing the whole system. I think the whole lot needs replacing, it might even be the stub shafts.

I thought I was not to shabby at such a simple maintainance job as repacking trailer wheel bearings, I redone mine after the DIY vid was posted, All full of my own importance i reconned they were all good,Bugger me if I went to load the predator (DRZ400E for LC Forplay) on the trailer for the nundle ride and just thought i would give the wheel a shake, stuff me if it wobbled, Turned out the splitpin actually did not hold the nut in position, i had to place a thin washer behind the nut to bring the nut out further to make sure the splitpin actually worked, All is good now, but hey go out and check them right now or its gunna be ugly on your next outing,,,,,Dont say you werent warned.

My ride report for you menace. Spent weekend in Sydney showing my twin daughters the big smoke for their eighteenth birthday. Ate ridiculous amounts of unreal food (the lobster at the south steyne is to die for) drank ridiculous amounts of grog including learning how good Guiness is, also learnt that I cant play laser tag for shit and that the Sydney folk at Doyles Watsons bay dont think its funny for you to catch the pigeons that fly into the restaraunt. (must of had too many beers) Also learnt that I must have got old when I watched my four (yes four) daughters look like godessess wander off to a night club and not need dad to protect them. Although the fact that their brother and half his rugby team was their escort both eased my mind and made me simultaneously nervous. Another reason to get back on the bike and squirt dirt — I only have to worry about finding the next mudhole to load shit on boony or bollocks!

That is the best ride report you have ever done Snow! :cheer: Your getting better!

Surely all the Tamworth boys can find their way to the Coast with out your help Boony. Just get them on the Oxley highway and point them east mate. Hopefully the sex will be worth you missing the ride at the Cells and seeing the 650’s roost up the loamy/leafy trails. Especially the Cappachino trail, now it has been cleared a bit to allow the fiddys do their stuff at full song. :woohoo:

Bad luck mate. Aaron can tell you all about how good it was.

Dont worry mate,I will miss rubbing elbows with you on the singles over there, but hey next time! There big boys I`m sure they will make it, I have seen the remnants of Aaron and Bollocks doing a road trip.(not pretty)

Fancy a DRZ400 rider asking if a 300 two banger has enough power for serious trail riding??

It would eat your yellow shitter for breakfast Boony ,so stop stirring the resident Kato riders and have a go on one.

I rode a brand new , literally out of the box one, at louee and was impressed. I will say that the 300 gasser seems to have more “tractor power” though from what I have seen.

Here I was innocently thinking I was helping a fellow Old Bull last night before goin to the pub for a couple only to wake up this morning to find Boony was taking the piss:P What’s the world comin to:evil:

Ohhh yeahh, sorry about that Dusty!( i would do smiley face but they dont seem to work any more)

    Duties of Wives…

Three men were sitting together bragging about how they had given their new wives duties.

Terry had married a woman from Greece .

He bragged that he had told his wife she needed to do all the dishes and housework. He said that it took a couple days but on the third day he came home to a clean house and the dishes were all washed and put away.

Jimmie had married a woman from Italy ..
He bragged that he had given his wife orders that she was to do all the cleaning, dishes, and the cooking. He told them that the first day he didn’t see any results, but the next day it was better. By the third day, his house was clean, the dishes were done, and he had a huge dinner on the table.

The third man had married a Australian girl.

He boasted that he told her that her duties were to keep the house cleaned, dishes washed, laundry and ironing twice a week, lawns mowed, windows cleaned and hot meals on the table for every meal.

He said the first day he didn’t see anything, the second day he didn’t see anything, but by the third day most of the swelling had gone down and he could see a little out of his left eye; just enough to fix himself a bite to eat, load the dishwasher, and call a handyman.

    God bless
