    Righto, the northern guys route.

Leaving the Timbertown log at 8.30am, we will head through Bago SF on some fire trails and a couple of easy singles, then through the Lorne State forest to Comboyne Rock. (if it is a nice day, if not we will give the Rock a miss and head through Elkhorn Rock road. One of my most favourite trails.
We will bypass Comboyne township through a property that has a cracker view( I call it shaggers rest). From there it is 24kms of main gravel road to Elands and Elenborough Falls. (Approx 80km) Back to Elands Store for refreshments and fuel. (not sure about eftpos so bring cash). From there we go across the Bulga Plateau to Blue Knob Lookout and depending on time we may slip down into the Cells for a quick loop through Blue Mountain creek Road. Then it is onto Nowendoc road via Dingo Tops.WE will probably meet the Tamworth guys here. A quick run through 6kms of nice tight corners on the tar, we will be back onto the gravel headed for Bundook and Krambach Approx 80km, Krambach is the fuel stop and a beer at the Krambach Hotel before we do the last short section to Nabiac.

I haven’t worked out which way to come home yet and I am open to suggestions.

are we meeting at tiri road intersection?????

    Hi Nickj

I’ve been reading your post with interest over the last couple of days and it dawned on me that the journey to buying an Adventure bike is not just a thrill for you as an owner its also other OBT’ers that enjoy your journey and provide you all the support you need as well.

I’ve been active on other forums but OBT is different and the care factor is priceless. Good luck in getting the bike setup and I hope that someday I’m able to share a ride with another Adventure rider that’s seen the light.

Sorry I’m in touch with the girlie side of me (for once) or is the the rum/coke I just guzzled.. … no comments please Boony. :silly:

there are some big days riding there Sid

    for instance mate,
Day one… Sydney to conargo, thats 380km going straight down the Princes Hwy, let along riding dirt. that would push it up to near 500km.
theres a long day and a sore arse

Day two… conargo to orbost, 350+ km of big arse mountains
i would actually say its impossible unless you are some world enduro champion  (like Boony)

    Day three…Buchan-Ensay-Dargo-Briagalong-Foster…. holy shit
that is 450+ km if keeping to maximum dirt. the first 200km from Buchan to Briagolong is across the high country. its massively steep and rocky and would probably kill a mortal man. (me included)

thats over 1200km just to foster…

i dont think Bear Grills would try that on his own.

its certainly do-able Sid but i think it might take you a little longer than you think.

and you will need an Exxon Valdez fuel tank or a DRZ400E:laugh:

That is a rather big fide alright?? ;)

    Hi Hatto
I have heard good things about the Coffs Detour in particular the Coffs to Brooms head ride. I think Boris covers some of the trails we did on the Coffs ride in November.

    Nick

Thanks Nick, are there any others up that way, we were looking at coffscoast tours but he has pulled the pin, we were planning on going in may, so we are sort of left in the lurch a bit

    cheers Hatto

where do you want to go and how much do you to spend???????
