Yes nick you do seem to be unfortunate to have to put up with me and dude under similar circumstances allot. Sorry about that.
On a more serious note. Me kevdog and mat had a rolling drag in top on the crf’s and kevs rounded up mine and almost had its way with the 280 kitted one. For those that dont know the bikes kevs is stock. Mine has a complete procircuit pipe and was jetted. And mats has a 280 kit with a slip on exhaust. The engine was fresh from being done. There were lots of other variables ie rider weight etc. but this was a little unexpected. Wtf ??? All had stock gearing. Would have been good to see how your hot cams kitted one would have gone?? Thanks again for the ride on yours it was nice to see what I needed to do to mine. ;)
I am working on getting my photos on here soon with a bit more of a report:) but I will say now thanks to all involved as I had a great time :)[/quote

Boonys Ktm toweled them all up on the trails !

My version of the 3 days of the HILLS OF GOLD ride 2012.
Friday seen snowy, Damus and me rather keen as we were ready to go at 8.00am. When we got to the van park the cabins we not ready for us to move into so we unloaded the bikes and headed up to the forest to gather some firewood for the ring of knowledge.
People started to arrive throughout the day and there was a gathering of old bulls starting to congregate at the cafe across from the van park as we all waited for the cabins to be cleaned. We were soon gearing up ready for a quick run up through the forest for a Friday warm up ride.
15 riders followed me up to the trails and then I handed the vest to snowy and lead the group through a few very dry and dusty trails. 70 odd ks later we were heading for the eskies, Poor Iva scored a flat during this trip and this was to hinder his whole weekend.
Once we hit the van park it was have a tub and hit the pub.
    Saturday
We were all up early, dressed, bikes serviced and ready to rumble. I lead the mob back up to the forest and then we hit the trails to the berry patch. Iva again scored a flat and when the boys were changing it they uncovered some issue with his tyre, Aaron did tell me what it was but who listens to Aaron.
The mob was whinging about dust or something, I thought this lot are weird, there’s not dust up here at the front.
I handed over to Snow to run some of the new trails but we had to cut them short due to a few delays in the morning running us behind just a bit.
I soon found out what they were carrying on about, you could see real flash but to the boys credit they kept the pace up and we were soon on our way to the berry patch for a feed.
As it turned out we rolled into the Berry patch a little bit ahead of time.
We fed us and the bikes and then back out to the dust bowl we headed. I lead to fridge hill and then gladly handed the ride over to snowy for last 50 Ks. The dust wasn’t as bad heading home and I got to have a play in the pack. I even found the odd puddle to play in,,(sorry ChrisT). I actually seen one of them moments no rider likes seeing when their out on the trail with their buddies, I was cruising up the exit road from the forest as I watched Krusty launch the Katto of a erosion mound only to have it land cross rutted in some mothers of ruts. Krusty hit that hard I literally threw my bike to the ground and ran to see if he was still alive,he lived and no I didn’t go through his wallet.
The rolling race was next. I went ahead and set the finish line and the sight of grown men elbowing each other and laying on their bike trying to win a rolling race was hilarious.
This is only a millionth of what went on .hopefully the others will fill in the gaps.
    Special thanks go to.
Damus and Polly for sweeping, Snowy for all his work leading up the ride. Bolls for his organizing the stuff he does. Aaron for!!! Hang on what did he actually do.

I had a ball thank you to all that travelled. I hope you enjoyed the weekend.

Seeing that we have to ride on 7 ks of tar i have asked Admin if they could hit up a sponsor for a prize for the 5 k rolling race on the way home on the saturday ride, They “have” landed a prize for the winner, I think its a brand new Honda CRF 250 or something of simular value. (packet of twisties or something) :woohoo: :woohoo: So grease up the wheel bearings boys. and bring on next weekend.
Oh yeah, 8mil of dust supresent has been laid over the riding trails last night ,,god we look after you lot.
