lunch at the berry patch in the middle of nowhere is unreal, last year I could buy a gourmey hotdog, with salad, chicken pieces and a drink along with some locally made Berry icecream. $20.00 is defernatly going into my back pack again this year for this treat. As Snow has said we have not been able to secure fuel at the lunch stop so please have a jerry can ready to go into the trailor for a refuel at the lunch break. All you 2 banga riders make sure you have your own oil,as we are not riding to a servo!!!!!!
Again as per Snow, the peel inn is the feed venue for tea both nights, however the van park has a great, clean camp kitchen for those wishing to dine in for the nights.

    Bring on next weekend.

With this ride coming up fast there has been some indepth discussions as to routes/numbers/feeds/and general shananigans. Speaking of shananagins I have made a call that one of the good ole nundle chestnuts will be making a come back, Boys grease up them wheel bearings, the great nundle rolling race will be on again,All engines are to be turned off and only gravity will power the iron steeds, It will be at the end of the saturday ride (should we make it back) . I am in dialog with the ride CEO for some kind of reward for the first one to cross the line at the bottom of the 5k hill.

getting keener by the day now..

14 days until we hit the trails for the 2014 old bulls hills of gold ride. To say I’m getting excited is an under statement. There’s some talented riders on the list and keeping the pace up on the ride is going to be a huge challenge. See what I can do. Looking forward to have a beer with you all.

Considering the annual old bulls hills of gold ride is not that far away  snowy and I decided we better actually work out the trails we might take this year  . Someone mentioned “Pre ride” :) so Snowy PEP and I decided we would make the sacrifice and go for a spin through some trails and try and work out the best way to run 40 bikes through the forests up our way ;) . First things first, there are a shirt load of rocks on the trails at the moment so handy hint number 1 heavy duty tubes, tyre slime and higher tyre pressures would be the order of the day. ;) We only done 94 ks of the possible 130/140 ks we will be running on the Saturday ride. The temperature was ruddy disgustingly hot with no breeze to cool us down on a break. Handy hint number 2, water, plenty of water guys you are going to need it. The trails I am taking on the Saturday ride should be sponsored by the peel Inn because they’re going to make you lot thirsty for a coldie when we get back. 👿 👿 👿 There was a heap of dust and the grip level was a bit on the missing side but hey that’s trail riding. :pinch:
We are still debating the exact route we are going to take as a lot is determined by the lunch/refuel stop as there has not been anything confirmed at this point for a feed. It will happen so don’t worry, Another change to this year will be the 3 vest system, there will be 2 sweeps and a lead rider, the reason for the 3 vest will be so we can change leaders without having to constantly changing vest .
The ride yesty was awesome with the boys having a right ole play and there were smiles all round when we hit the pub on the way home. 😆

    Handy hint number 3
PRAY FOR RAIN.

    Bring on November, cant wait.
