Well with a some shed time the pig is ready for the 3 state ride. The carby is finally tuned where I am happy and fuel consumption is good. I fitted the high bend bars and risers and still needed to lower the pegs, I cut them and welded them in the lower pos and am really happy with the end result.
I fitted a screen for bikes screen and then packed the top bolts of the screen out until I got the right angle and It works really well now.
So now its just a matter of testing it all on the ride :woohoo: So bring it on!!
Looking good Kat, You guys are going to need a bigger shed!!!:woohoo:
Welcome to OBT Adam, Look forward to meeting you. There is some good riding down your way, I was lucky enough to ride with the DSMRA down there a few years ago and met some really good people.
Hey Puddles, I like the trailer it looks like a home from home mate, The dr looks really clean too, look forward to seeing it in the flesh. Boys need Toys!!
Looks good Corey and has’nt done much work by the looks. Case savers , Bash plate and rad gaurds and everything else can come over time.
I like the black look too.
This could be Eagles new bike having its pre delivery test!! Better check the valves Eags
Hey Mick, we are bringing the 14 fronts along in case we have to gear down along the way
I am also going through the panniers and only taking whats necessary  Cloths are going to be well worn on this trip!!:blush:Thanks for the offer Nick. We are putting my 22ltr on the DRZ and I will speak to Fish about a screen, but the air hawk will not be needed mate!! You have met Fish have’nt you? He has one of his own its a permanent fixture
We got them from the same place mate a two for one dealWould have loved to do this one but have to work so I can go on the three states ride.
Have a great ride and have a beer for me on Friday.Really sorry to hear that you cant make it guys.
Thanks Gaz for the offer offer to trailer the bikes down but we are going to ride all the way. We cant have the crew telling us we took the soft option  Especially as Nickj is riding all the way from Coff’s
Fish is working on his bike this week, getting it ready for the long haul’s and fitting a big tank, Larger front sprocket, tyres etc.
I have fitted my new bars and risers and am hoping to have a screen fitted before we leave. Work gets in the way of preps but we will make it happen. Really looking forward to this one.Good onya Eagle, Nice work on the commuter mate!
About the new ride?? Go on you know you want one eag’s
Looks the goods mate, really nice!! But where are you going to put the camp ovens and swags
It looks like it needs a run in the high country to blow the cobwebs out :whistle:Hi Ron, sounds like a great ride your planning there mate. If you get a chance the Bore track from Innaminka is a nice ride and really pretty country and well worth the effort, you will have to pay $10 at bollards lagoon but money well spent IMO. Riding the corner country area is all good and you will have a ball, have a beer at the corner for me and let us know how you go mate.
Boulder. PS Bedourie has a good thermal pool thats great for the knees!!!
Just called Scott and ordered 4 tyres for Pebbles Fish and myself, great buying and good tyres!!:cheer:
Thanks to sutto’s for such a great deal!!February 20, 2011 at 8:04 pm in reply to: Safari Tanks breath NEW LIFE into the DR650 project bike #197087I can highly recommend the Wolfman panniers and racks from ADV moto, they have plenty of room and keep the weight down low!! Before you go the lower pegs try the bar raisers with a high bend bar set up as the lower pegs can ground out and cause problems. I know Lotsa had problems with them and on his advice I am going the bar option first.
