HAPPY B/DAY POLLY. :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:
Have a great day & see ya in the hills of gold.Murph the surf wrote:Hey Boze
I’ve owned two 525’s and now a 500
Found 14-50 to be best for me
Did try 13-50 once but found I was changing gears too often
Cheers
MurphYeh thanks Murph. Was changing a bit close.
The 13-50 was ok for me at Nundle but I can now remember why I was chewing out back tyres so dam fast.
When its time I will put the 14 on the front and like the Rookie said smooth out the power.Looking at some data it was doing 7000rpm @ 110. So again 14 will make this better. Most of the day it sat around 4000 – 6000rpm.
Thanks all
BozeChasing Summer. There are 12 episodes to this series.
Found this the other night and thought I’d share it. Dam awesome ride with plenty of mischief.Ever wonder what the feathers in a Indians head band stood for?
A female reporter, interviewing an American Indian Chief, asked the
significance of the varied number of feathers in Indian headdresses.
“Feathers show number of sexual partners,” the chief replied.
Indicating a nearby young brave, he continued, “Him? One woman, one
feather. Him?”, pointing to a second, older man, “Three women, three feathers.”
The reporter looked at the Chief’s headdress. “But you have so many feathers!”
The Chief proudly slapped his chest. “Me Chief.
Sleep with all women.
Big, small, fat, tall.”
Horrified, the female reporter said, “You ought to be hung!”
The Chief said, “Damn right. Me hung big like buffalo, long like snake.”
The offended reporter said, “You don’t have to be hostile!”
The Chief replied, “Hoss-style, dog-style, wolf-style, any style!”
The reporter cried, “Oh, dear!”
“No deer”, said the Chief. “Ass too high, run too fast.Sorry Brad I’ve never heard of it.

Yeh the chain slider needs replacing.
Hey Boze
Different internal ratios will affect final gearing but I am a fan of 13 / 52. It gives low end snap and still allows a top speed of around 110 which is plenty for my terrain.STM
I only took it for a lap or 2 around the paddock and up the road (short st) but yep snappy. I like it. It should be fine for Nundle that’s where it will spend most of its time. Hope it not too up in the revs.
To put a 14 on the same chain I may need 2 link joiners. That’s another story. the 13 may stretch it enough.
Thanks everyone for your input.
tryhard wrote:Yeah I’d imagine , but you can’t trust my maths after the rum on the bb bashWhat still scrambled   Yeh all good.
14-50 sounds the go. May have to change it later to a 14. See if me arms stretch too much.
Thanks all
Boze
tryhard wrote:15-52 is about the same as a 14-49 give or take a bit. Gives about 157 top out so will cruise at 110-120Ok so what you think 13-50 will be like then. Top out 120 cruise 80
white rocket wrote:hay boze i found 14 50 okay but favoured 14 52 on my last bike 08 530 be interesting how 13 50 will goWell I’m thinking if I’m playing sweep they better be ready.
tryhard wrote:Hey boze
I run 15-52 on my 530. Still gets me up murphs basin runs but gives me a decent transport speedMmm that sounds high. But ok.
I was happy with the 13-46 I had. I can remember putting the 46 on to tame it as the front did lift a bit and to run over to Gunnedah (80km). Just trail riding it a lot now & looking for happy medium.
Thanks
Yeh point taken TB.
But so far we got 14-50, 52. Mostly Honda. After the quick lap around the paddock and up the road I’m thinking I should have put a 14 on the front. But we will see how the bike handles it on Sunday. I know the front wheel is going to get more air time :woohoo: I’ll just see if I can control the throttle (think with brain not right hand).
Oh its on an 08 KTM 530
Thanks guys
Hi
I got O’Neil MX boots. Mine have got a red replaceable steel sole.
I find them a bit hard to bend. ie rear brake pedal. not bad for the price I paid though.

Boze
Kinda did the same. Sunday replaced the 13 front sprocket & 50 down from 46 rear sprocket with supersprok and EK 520 gold chain
Now I cant remember if it had a 13 or 14 on the front when I got the bike. I did run a 14 at one time with the 46 to make it easy on the long trips, but don’t do that any more.
I’ll see how it goes this Sunday, but I think the front wheel will be getting some air time :woohoo:
Well all I can add is it was very wet & slippery. Thinking I will get a mud rear tyre next winter and see if that helps.
Well here is the last of what I could pull out of a mad day in the hills of gold.
The helmet cam is a Drift HD 1080, there is a newer one called Ghost.

Andy I recon if you had of stayed standing and powered out you might not of stacked???
Hi Snowy hope all is going well for ya.
The first half of the trails haven’t seen much activity. There has been a dozer lightly along the trail where Leach track comes out. There has been some quick buggers playing around the back section but still all good.
Get well soon, this Bollocks feller is a crazy leader. :woohoo:
