They expand out to 31.5lt after a while but yours is new. I haven’t bothered with reserve because I can’t usually just pop into servo if I hit reserve anyway.
Jeez you blokes running Leopard tanks !!
I know I know F#@^ck off Ollie
Nah hear you Ollie I was thinking the same thing
Thanks for input y’all, big help! Looks like we’ll go with an XT or TTR (one that has had the e-start problem rectified) initially to get her feet dirty then we’ll see what she likes from there. Like it has been said we’ll start in paddock and dirt roads then fire tracks and see where she wants to go from there either singletrack/firetrack/adv :S or freestyle mx 👿
She may well need or want a more capable machine but not for a while yet. Thanks for the offer Trailrider I’ll run it by her, plus if she does decide to come along to the B-day ride i wont be using up any leave passes

Mate I had a similar thing with the XR, was jamming. Turns out there were 2 washers to go onto 2 separate shafts in the trans, with annoyingly similar specs but with the help of calipers turns out not quite. I ended up giving it to a mechanic in town who sorted it for me for not too much given the potential hassle. And when you get spares you can then say something to them
Hope it’s not too late.B.W.

And if you told em they’d more than likely say they’re just doing their job like their mates… crazy
Lest we forget.

If you don’t mind me asking how old is she?? I’m 32 but after 4hrs on a dirt bike a feel like I’m 80! But if she is nice and young (anything younger than me
her body could probably take a bit more punishment so you could think of other bikes?
Do you want something that is soft and comfy so she can sit down for most of the ride?
Unless you are an amazingly wonderful boyfriend she is going to have to pick it up herself. So put your bike on the ground and make her pick it up by herself then wait for the feedback
.
1. 5’1″ and athletic
2. 22 Y.O. :woohoo:
3. She is a girl so of course a soft seat if preferable
4. she’d tear me a new one if I tried to pick up her bike after a spill 😆She’s strong but she wouldn’t be able to pick up an XR400 I shouldn’t think. Hence the smaller bike ideas.
Thanks Dickie, might take you up on that one day? Seems rego’d bikes relatively new (light weight) are few and far between for her budget.
1600 ac ??? OBT ride “Dickie’s Day Out” planned yet? :woohoo: :woohoo:
thanks fellas but yeah rego is the go as we live in town and dont really know anyone with property, besides she wants to tag along on some rides with me and maybe a sedate OBT ride once she’s got the hang of it was looking at something like a Sherpa or a TTR or a CRF230 maybe or even a XR125 when they come out.
Happy birthday PTW, hope it was a good one and not too sore today

Hey Bigger Al, sorry for the late notice but I’m going to be working this weekend
Hope all goes well and your injury report is better than last weekend
BWHi Al, I rode through Kookaburra and Youdales Hut about a year ago now with a local Adventure guru here in Kempsey, knows that area and a good deal of the people up there too. Some of the Land up there is private some is now gated National parks but yes it was unbeatable stuff. If you’re keen let me know and i’ll PM you his details.

Its a terrible subject that makes your skin crawl and your blood boil and I hate to revive it. BUT. late yesterday my neighbour called out to me over the fence and told me he’d just gotten off the phone with his wife who had called to tell me that she has heard of more than a few rumbles where she lives that a red dirt bike in my street was going to get pinched. She lives on the other side of town and deals with certain members of the community who are either involved in this low life activity or know of those who are. (I’m unsure if it was kids or more entrepreneurial type she was talking about)
I immediately double checked all the chains and locks and put a cover over the bike then jumped on the phone and up graded my insurance to include theft. Its not like my bike is worth much being nearly 10 years old now but its mine and id like it to remain that way until i decide to sell it or it gives up the ghost for good!
As a side note i heard of a trailer loaded with bikes in a secure alarmed shed getting knocked off in town and the insurance getting voided because the “bikes weren’t secured by a chain or cable though the frame and at least one wheel to an anchor point fixed in concrete”. So next item on the list as a ground anchor and an alarming Disc lock.
Please take note to all OBTs and their mates (especially in the Kemp/Port/Namb area).

Happy Birthday Mick, try to take it easy, you “older Bulls” gotta look after yourselves.

If you’ve got any left I’ll take one TB.
