    Thanks Pauly,

First night fever on top of my natural lack of fitness and spritely young age would do me in I think. I thought the baton may be a trabsducer but was wondering how you ment to fix it to several bikes.

Is there somewhere to have a tub/swim on the Sunday night.

How much truth is there in the start being in daylight. Do people use extra lights.

After Hattos comments I went back and looked for the changes. No prologue and no practice lap. I’m guessing this will make the first lap in the dark a little interesting.

A couple of questions. What is this “baton” thing you have to pass between riders and what is a good way to carry it?

How many laps/km’s were people doing last year. I remember having a look last year and seem to think the leaders were doing 33 laps or so. Memory mightn’t be that good though. I’m certainly not expect ing to be anywhere near the front but am trying to mentally prepare the brain for the onslaught.

Haven’t planned that far ahead yet but I’m guessing we will be there Sunday night too. I’m guessing I may be a little low on energy by then.

i love those tyres lc but they don t last that well but who cares in my opionion one of the best tyres i have used .have not tryed them on the 300 yet the 530 trashed tyres anyway

+1 and the 300 will trash them as well or at least mine does. I find they are the best gripping tyre I’ve used when new but once worn a bit the grip drops right off.

I unfortunately tried the mx71 thinking maybe the grip will be the same and they will last longer being the hard terrain tyre. No grip at all, especially if wet. It’s that bad I have a new mx71 in the shed and I will never put it on. Anybody’s for a carton of beer or even half a carton.

I can still remember the look on my sons face on Xmas morning when he got his first bike 6 years ago! It is a great feeling. That was a PW80…..

I can still remember the feeling of getting my first bike and that was over 30 years ago. It was a PW80 too. Been wanting it for ages at the time (well at least 3 years worth of christmas’s and birthdays) and when it arrived it was and still is the best Christmas present I ever received.

Woke up Christmas morning and there was a string line coming out of the santa pillow case at the end of my bed. We (my brother got one too) followed the string as it wound its way through most of the rooms in the house and then downstairs (we lived in an old queenslander at the time) to the bikes parked under the house. Still makes me happy remembering it. I couldn’t tell you what other presents I had under the tree that year or if I even bothered to open them.

Only thing santa got wrong is he didn’t check the oil reservoir on the bikes before delivery and they were only part full and we didn’t have any more 2T oil. Riding had to stop before lunch Christmas day as a result. Christmas must have been a weekend that year as it was a long wait until mum went to town to get some more.

Your kids will love it Wolfie. You only ever get one first bike.

Got to love how they put a non replaceable hose clamp on something that they recommend get taken off every 15 hours.

    Thanks for the tips.

I use the Ironclad landscaper gloves. Been going really well (+/- 1000km so far). No blisters. I have noticed that the leather (or whatever it’s made of) on the palm is starting to stretch and bunch a bit now. I don’t notice it when riding and it hasn’t caused any ill effects yet. My main problem with gloves is the stitching along the side of the fingers gives out. All good so far. Can’t remember the price as it was too long ago. Like Steve said the palm does get sweat stained. If you are worried about your gloves matching your mascara then these gloves are probably not for you.

Did you donate the standard suzuki joiner link to be used as the hinge. Looks a little under strength for the job to me!!

A neat looking piece of kit.

That must be one steep mother of a hill. I have never seen bikes keep falling down a hill like that before. I just wanted to see one person make it. The grass does look fairly untouched at the top though.

Good news – no more exhaust dents.
Bad news – changing exhaust flange o-rings is now a pain in the rear end.

Is it just me or do those freeride bikes have the same diameter wheels on both ends.

And here I was thinking a real man would have done it down the hill and then he did. Pretty sure there was a ramp to get him up the back of the car though. Still, he has more skill in his little finger than I’ll ever have. Impressive.

They said he wheelied for 20 miles. What is the longest wheelie ever.
