Mate, if you are coming there will be riding. There will be a few leaving at lunch time but as long as the teetor totter hasn’t wrecked my bike or body by then I’ll be up for it. Some of the other boys from dubbo (lonnie and co) are die hards as well so they’ll still be there too.
Don’t ever let it be said you succumb to peer pressure Boll. Will be good to see you.
Thanks Jimbo.
I’m pretty sure I fall into the option 3 category. Need to improve my riding style.
I have trouble finding a pedal height where it is low enough that I’m not accidently riding it but high enough so that it doesn’t feel like my ankle is pivoting through 90 degrees to get the brake on. Hence I’m pretty sure I drag the rear brakes a lot.
Was thinking the fact that all you tamworth boys were very quiet was not a good sign. Aaron and Nathan are the sole representatives. Haven’t heard from House so better not blaspheme his name under my breath just yet. Good news is that a smaller group should get more ground covered. Bad news is I will have to curtail my beer intake to ensure I have the energy to cover the extra ground.
did the leave overnight thing previously. I even took the calliper off the bike and sat it on the ground so it was all up hill to the master cylinder. I thought it was leave it so the air bubbles had time to work their way up the brake line.
Why is it there never seems to be just a 5 minute job with bikes. Maybe I have problems cause I’m not drinking beer whilst working.
Thanks Rebore.
I have put the reservoir extender on as well as the cooler. I had to take the cooler off at this stage to get it working in the timeframe I had left before riding. Hopefully the extender by itself will still make a difference.
There is no worse feeling then cruising down a long steep hill and going for the rear brakes only to find nothing let me tell you. Front brakes alone are okay but only if you know that is all you’ve got and ride accordingly.
Been thinking about your technique x-y. Wouldn’t it be better if you put brake fluid in the tube and then tied the tube to something high. This way the fluid is always down against the nipple and the air bubbles will rise away from the nipple. Just a thought. I think I will give this a go next week on attempt 6 of trying to get this cooler fitted.
Righto Boys, I having been sweating razor blades trying to get my bikes brakes sorted in time but it is all done now. Not perfect probably but will get me through. Now I’m starting to get excited. See you on the weekend.
Friday – 9.30am
Saturday – 8.30am
If you turn up any other time we won’t be far away. If you can let me know before Friday I can organise to swing the group past and pick you up. Otherwise on Saturday head south if it’s before lunch and north (other side of the tar from the quarters) if it’s after and listen for the bikes.
Thanks for the tips. I took the cooler back out and re-bled it and all is fine. Will get me through this weekend and then when I have a bit more patience/time will try again. Must be air getting trapped in the extra long banjo bolt somehow.
This was what I am trying to fit.

It had better make my brakes work better when I finally get it on as it makes bleeding brakes a real prick.
That’s exactly what I’m doing Corey but it’s not working. It’s like somethings wrong but it was all fine before I started so I guess it has to be air in there somewhere.
Lap times are up boys

Bask in all your glory!
anyone else getting it too.
the plan
Friday. Only a few of us. Start 9.30am. Does this suit you Nathan?
Saturday. Around 10 riders so still a mobile group. Start 8.30am
A few points
1) No mobile service so prepare the missus for no phone calls.
2) Ensure you bring enough fuel and spares for the bike.
3) ensure the car has enough fuel to get back to bingara or barraba when leaving these towns. 80km return trip.
4) bring enough food and beverages for the weekend. There are beds for all but will need swag or linen/pillow/blankets
5) bring a jumper. It will be cold at night.
there is a “Castletop” and Bike Territory sign with two white wagon wheels at the front gate on the Narrabri-Bingara road. About 60km from Bingara and 85km from Barraba. Turn left at the sign. Once over the grid then take the road that veers right and head up to the woolshed and quarters. This is our base camp and meeting place.
Let us know what time you plan on arriving.
Ev,
Just checking with Scott that all’s right for Thursday night and I will give you a call. Not expecting any hassles though.
Did you buy it brand new x-y or did the previous owner rotate it.
I have income protection that covers me for all riding but racing with Aviva. Combined insurance like Mick says will cover all riding/racing. They give a once off lump sum payment instead of replacing 75% of your salary like income protection insurance does.
My advice is to tell the insurance companies you race even if they don’t ask. Better to find out they don’t pay now then to get hurt in a race after paying them for 10 years only to find out they won’t pay out. If you get hurt in a race they will call an ambulance regardless. Once others are involved then the insurance company will find out what you were doing when you were hurt. There will also be injury reports go in to Motorcycling NSW from the club hosting the race.
It’s funny most people think racing is more dangerous. I reckon there are less risks in one sense. You get a practice lap so you know the track. Your brain is switched on because you know it is a race. All traffic is going the one way. The track is usually marked so you know when corners or dangerous bits are coming up. I’m certainly not saying there are no risks but it seems odd to me they will cover trail riding but not racing.
