Thanks gents. I had looked at the yellow pages and saw they were all together and not far from where I am staying but was more wondering whether they were worth looking at in terms of stock levels/variety. Sounds like they might be worth a look. Boony, the cooks hill info wasn’t the sort I was looking for but I have now learnt something new for today.
Ev,
This is the route I would take
I don’t think there would be any hassles/charges staying Thursday night but I will check. I can arrive first thing Friday. The only hassle with coming up Thursday night is the roos/deer are really bad from Bundarra on. There is a short section of dirt just past Bundarra as well. Memory’s not the best but say 10km. Travel at night and it’s not a matter of if you see a roo but how many you don’t see until too late. I have been through there at night and didn’t hit any but was very nervous so just a warning.
What time at night do they close it for the trip home.
Boll,
Spoke to House last night. He is going to marshall at Uralla and if his back holds up then he is coming too.
Roy
Good on you Boll. Have been thinking of riding my dirt bike up the back of Kaputar for years now. Only reason I hadn’t done it was I thought it might have been a bit easy and dull. Now you’ve made it on a BMW that has been confirmed. I’d heard a rumour that you’d disgraced our territory with your presence but thought it couldn’t be true since you didn’t come round to bludge a beer.
Nice start to your modelling career on the TV the other night too. The missus said you cut a fine figure.
Is that a genuine BMW tank bag phone holder on your bike.
No Worries Ev. The boys sending you over as the forward scout hey. Not game to cross over the great divide until one of their mates has returned safely from the nether regions (well not counting aaron from Tamworth anyway). You still planning on getting here around 11am on the Friday.
March 22, 2011 at 3:52 pm in reply to: Jensen button to drive F1 car at Bathurst next Tuesday #198628Sounds like lowndes went alright in the F1 car. Only 1 second slower than old mate. I realise old mate was far from pedal to the metal though.
March 22, 2011 at 10:41 am in reply to: Jensen button to drive F1 car at Bathurst next Tuesday #198152So how was it boys. Just looked wrong seeing a F1 car on the track on TV. Bet it hammered though.
The whole place is there to ride. It won’t worry Blue if you make your own track. Every new track is a new challenge, especially if it was made by a trials bike.
Nathan,
Plenty or spots left mate. See you then. I will post up a time for the Friday ride as soon as we here from the other Tamworthians. You going to bring the trials bike.
Man that sucks. I guess that means your on a 0.02 limit when on the bike as well. Do you have to do the full 3 year P thing. Sounds like I got back into bikes at the right time. I didn’t even have to do the training course thing because I am too far away from the nearest training centre.
I do not want to destroy the jovialty of this thread but when I went for my bike licence (5 years ago) I went straight from my L’s to my opens because I was over 30. Obviously I don’t know STM but I would have guessed he was over 30. Maybe the rules have changed. Maybe they think that STM is not a responsible adult. Maybe I have missed the point of the whole thread. Just putting it out there.
Righto Gents,
A fortnight to go to the big ride and I’m down to the fine tuning of the program. I have a couple of options for what I can do on the Friday but it depends on how many are coming and how hard they like it. It looks like there will be around 10-15 of us for the weekend with a few locals which is a good sized group. I know Ev and crew are getting there 11ish on Friday.
What are you girls from Tamworth doing. I figure you won’t be arriving until late Friday (ie leave after work) at the earliest.
One option requires registered bikes. Is all your crew registered Ev?
Definitely Sunday mate.
Well done boys and girls. Now for the low down and the bragging rights. Who’s the fastest Mal or Capt. How many laps?
I had a quick look at the results page. The boys at the pointy end of the race were speeding up as the day progressed. I’m guessing this has to do with less people being on the track. 36 laps is a lot of laps. Some of the pairs teams must have been pretty good as they beat all but one of the quad teams and that was the husqvana racing squad no less.
Well done on the trophy Riggs and CathiM. You have to be in it to win it.
Did anyone get any prizes.
We’re doing another ride at blues on the 8/9/10 April if you’re keen. Will be a few blokes from Tamworth coming too so you might even be able to scab a lift as well.
