Gibbit,
Each club puts out there own entry forms generally 3-4 weeks before the race either by email and/or on their website. Usually the club that is holding the next round will also have entry forms at the race before for people to pick up too. Go to http://www.narrabridirtbikeclub.com and put your name on the mailing list and you will get all the entry forms emailed to you in time for each race. I do the emails so you won’t get bombarded with other stuff. I only do enduro related emails. The entry forms will have the fax number on them.
Sad news boys and girls.
I tried to put our entry in for the race today only to be told the race is full and entries have closed. So if you haven’t entered yet you will be like me. Leave pass in hand and no race to go to.
Good luck to all that have entered.
Axel,
Haven’t had to change battery yet on mine and I use it all the time. What I have found though is the brushes have worn out once (about $20-$30 from memory) and the contact on the armature (if that is the correct name for the part that spins) gets covered in carbon. They are very easy to pull apart. I paid someone the first time because I was a bit worried but when it needed to be done again I had to man up. All I did the second time was take the wire brush to the contact area and it then started like it never has before. Better than from new. My bike has never started on the button cold from the day I got it. After a clean it starts cold now on the button.
Not saying your battery is not rooted. Voltage says it is anyway. Just saying there are other factors that may put things back in your favour and take the load of the battery. Don’t get me started on the hydraulic clutch not fully letting go either for starting in gear. Thats where most of the extra load comes from I reckon and extra load leads to the carbon deposits.
Mal,
I’ve got the big ugly whipps number. Seems to work okay. I’ve bent mine twice to the point where it was touching the pipe. It takes some hits. The trouble is that because the pipe is so big and extends so far from the frame it is hard to get bracing and any hits higher up get a lot of leverage on the mounts. Hence the movement. The whipps one was dear at $450 with the skid plate but it has saved my pipe more times than I can remember. Took a fair bit of swearing to get the mounts on initially but the guard itself is now easy to take on and off for o-ring changes (mounts stay on bike).
I’ve seen the hyde ones pierced by sticks. There used to be another metal cage alternative made by pickles not sure if it’s still available. The metal cage type is great for the pipe crunching big hits but still get little rock dents.
When I first got the whipps one I thought it stuck out the sides a fair bit and was paranoid about it catching on things. This has proven to be unfounded, it never seems to catch and now I hardly worry about it at all even in the middle of the deepest rut.
The biggest difference between the metal frame ones and all others is they use the frame for support not the pipe itself.
If you’ve got the skills making one yourself would be the go but it won’t be as simple as it sounds and don’t ask me what bar to use.

For those that are interested I think I have solved the problem.
the command
worksheets(1).
refers to the left hand worksheet as it appears on the screen.
the command
sheet1.
refers to sheet1, the code name for the worksheet that cannot be changed.
I need to use the sheet1 command instead of the worksheets(1) command. My sheet1 was not the furthest left worksheet hence my problem. Working with the command sheet1 will allow the name on the tab of the worksheet to be changed without effecting how the code works. Means I can transfer the program from dirt bikes to MTB which is what I am in the middle of now.
Hope all that is as clear as mud.
Can’t check the code until I get home tonight. Will post up again if this doesn’t turn out to be the solution.
Thanks all for the offers. I know it is a pain in the but for you but rather than type in all my issues again here you can view them here
If you have any ideas then feel free to post them here or there, I will find them.
Its to do with some visual basic code that operates in the background when you click a button I created to clear all the existing lap times and reset the rider numbers to numerical order (as opposed the race placing order), not just formulaes in the workbook.
Thanks again for the offers of help. Not knowing drives me crazy. Just another defect in the personality of Roy.
Dude,
There’s no never option. I’d never get to ride if I pulled the pin at some of the temperatures you polled. Funny thing about the heat. It’s alright if you don’t stop. Only hassle is heat and not stopping needs more fitness than normal. We’re going out tomorrow and 36 forecast. We’re hoping the rain comes whilst we’re out there though.
And to think I only found this poll by testing out what the no replies tab meant. Ironically now no one else will find it that way.
Chris, well done. I think it’s great. Much more logical set out. Lots of things are much simpler to do now with less clicks. The font seems easier to read now too somehow. Thumbs up from me on first appearances.
Righto Gents,
No promises just yet but it looks like myself, Blue, House and a couple of others may be making the trip down for this grand event. Not sure if we can put a dent on team red and team oranges prospects. Hell, I’m not even sure whether we are going to form a 2, 3 or 4 man team but I reckon it’s going to be a good challenge.
Spoke with Heffo today and it sounds alright. Hopefully I will get to meet a few of you there.
Been thinking about that too. We had winds here in narrabri a couple of years ago up to 150km/hr for a 5 minute period. Seemed like a lot longer at the time and was pretty scary. I can’t even imagine what 290 km/hr for a few hours would be like. I can’t see many people up there getting any sleep tonight. Hopefully everyone survives okay.
It’s not like a flood where if you stay and things get a bit wayward at least you might be able to get on the roof. Things go wrong in a cyclone and you wouldn’t get that many other chances.
Maybe I’m just worry to much but I would be very nervous if I lived up there.
I don’t think I have met griffo and toolie yet. Looks like they had a few issues at upper horton. Flats I’m guessing. The blokes I know from Gundi are Brendan Griffiths and Andrew Arthur, so a different Griff. Those lazy shits only rode C grade, but didn’t see them at all last year.
That’s a good calendar that Inverell has up. Looks pretty right as far as I can tell. The only thing I noticed was with the pony express they have the host club down, not the actual place the race is at. One of the moree rounds is at coolatai and the last round hosted by Armidale is at Upper Horton and the first round is at Uralla.
It’s good to know somebody actually reads the points table as I get the pleasure of doing them up every race.
Good luck with organising the dates. In the end it will always clash with something but that’s life. As a general rule, moree races 1st sunday of the month, Narrabri the 2nd and Inverell the 3rd Sunday. The pony express is sort of random. It is basically one race per month with the races as evenly spaced out as possible. There are not a lot of people in the pony express that are serious about MX racing as well so we don’t worry to much about clashes. As funny as it sounds, it is bloody hard to organise the calendar so there are minimal clashes. The only ones you definitely can’t clash with are the national mx titles at Moree and Coonabarabran. I can’t remember the dates but they are some time in June and July I think.
Good to see another team in a grade. We are a bit light on for those blokes. I’ll see you at the start line in B grade though.
