It’s a funny scenario. We need more bike riders so bike riders rights are respected (ie we represent a decent number of votes) but the more riders we have the more complaints there will be. I can’t see rider numbers increasing to the point when we are not a monority group. It is hard to find a win-win scenario here.
No not the one I was trying to describe. I don’t think I’ve been up that one. Is there a fence not far off to the right as you go up.
Whilst I do think they are a good product, there are a couple of improvements that could be made in my opinion. Firstly, and it’s not isolated to barkbusters by any means I don’t like those plastic expander thing that lock into your bar ends. They don’t grip well and don’t last. The other issue is the bar mount on the inside. The yamaha ones that bolt to your triple clamp are the bees knees and are perfect but the other type that mount back onto the fatbars are crap. They move all the time too and if the inner mount moves then the whole system is near useless as you are always adjusting things.
In saying this I think there are metal end expander inserts (or at least there used to be). I used to just keep using my old ones and throwing the new supplied plastic ones in the bin. Not sure what can be done with the fat bar mounts but it needs some work. I am not bagging the product, just some feedback.
Good to hear that good old fashioned service is still available.
Looks the goods. Doesn’t look like there is too much restoring to do. I wish todays bikes had that much room for acces to the engine and air filter.
Boony which one is yehaa. I’ve only been there a couple of times but the worst one can remember was fairly new last time I was there. I think it was after a creek crossing ans some openish grass flats. Was steep just at the start and fairly technical with trees, then went to single trail stuff and just when you thought you had it conquered you realised you only half way up. fairly loose ground with some large rocks to go around. The was a road around to the left but I’m not sure it takes you to the place where the hill climb finishes. This probably describes half of nundle but I tried to explain it from one visit more than 12 months ago and I had bruised ribs by then too from a little incident after riding off with my stand down. Apparently it is not good to jump with your stand down. If you have a picture I may be able to remember.
A case of what goes down must come up. Well done and I agree with TB, the bike has been looked after.

Wouldn’t even have to go to the effort of go and get a ute to pick it up. When I got my bike I rang KTM and asked if there was a ready made ignition you could purchase and fit. I was told that KTM are performance racing bikes and as such a key is not important. What a crock of shit. If it can be registered it is not a performance racing bike. As you may have noted the arrogance of their answer still gets my goat (asked the question in 2008). Maybe I should just let things go!
Anyway all the best with getting your bike back. I would be taking the ute out and a couple of mates and some beers for them just in case the hill proves too hard. Don’t want it out there for a second night. Check your insurance is up to date before you find out if it’s still there or not.
Sounds like a good do Boll. My only hassle is I have my work Christmas party in Narrabri on the Saturday night. Still keen but means leaving home at 4am. Will have to think about it and get back to you. Might see if Blue is keen and we can travel together.
Whilst I’m on a roll I may may as well keep the questions coming (I can see why my kids constant questions are so annoying now). In the manual it says the slide and needle need to be replaced at 100 hours due to wear from vibration (it is a 2t after all) and the whole carby assembly/body after only 200 hours. Does anybody ever do this? I have never heard of any of my mates even replacing their slides. I realise the manual is keen on spare parts sales but was wondering if replacing the carby is something that is realistically required down the track.
Victoria already has rec rego. Is there any figures that show the sales of mx bikes in victoria is a higher percentage than in other states.
Man I was so going to bag you out if this was your bike for sale. Then I remembered you only had a 250 anyway.
I must admit the bloke with the helmet cam did make the log crossing look a tad easier at the end.
I knew it was crashes bike. Just trying to explain why maybe it keeps trying to go underground on him.

Kidding arent you, your crashed wreck
But 666 is the devils number isn’t it?
Thanks for that. I knew I could look it up but it is always better to get the info from someone using it. You never know the ins and outs until you use the thing.
