Mick,
There are lots of marked loops. Not sure of your kids age or abilities but there are nippers (50’s) grass tracks that can be watched from the quarters. Also great fun on the big bike too. There are longer grass tracks within a few km’s of the quarters as well. There are also several single track loops with varying levels of skills required from beginners to average. The farm is 7500 acres with large areas of both cleared country and scrub so there will be somewhere to ride for all abilities.

Quote:Bastards!! All I can say is I bloody well hope AC/DC are worth missing this ride.I know I am new and haven’t been on a OBT ride just yet, but I have been to AC/DC last time they were here. Mate, it will be worth it. They are great, loud did I mention they are LOUD. Even shit seats would be good. I’m annoyed I’m not going to either (and yes Boony did very kindly offer to take me to Chichester but no can do this time). Did I mention the concert will be good.
Every year, somebody says the FI 2T will be here next year. Still waiting, and as said before I can’t really see why.
Even on 4T how long did road bikes have it before dirt bikes. Not that you could say it is common place for even 4T dirt bikes yet.
Pardon my ignorance (new) but can someone give me the full run down on Rats schools. Website, location, kids/adults, how much. The whole works. Thanks.
Bloke I work with bought some of his stuff (panniers) for his bmw gs800. Seems to be good quality and certainly a lot cheaper than bmw genuine. He hasn’t had it long but it’s lasted one trip to Birdsville and back with no dramas so far.
Ollie, I am no mechanic or anything so am likely to be wrong. I have been told that when you are putting a piston on you are much better off using a ring compressor and sliding in from the top of the bore. What reallt annoys me is I can’t remember the reason why but I think it had something to with the gap in the bore lining at the bottom of the cylinder catching the rings on installation. Any thoughts?
There will be plenty of room. I’m not exactly sure of numbers but bring your swag as a back up and if nothing else you will be guaranteed a roof to put it under. There’s bunks out there for 30 so I’d be very surprised if they’re all taken.
That’s what I call being lucky when you’re unlucky. How far can you get on a tank.
My brother and I grew up in the early 80’s on pw 80’s. As you are obviously aware they are a great bike and still hold some of my fondest memories of riding. The only hassle we had in the wet was splash actually getting on the spark plug lead and shorting/disrupting the spark. Had to be pretty wet for this to happen. We would just pull the plug lead off and wipe/blow/wait it dry and all fine. I have heard that a bit of silastic can help but have never tried it.
Not sure how much the bike design has changed since then but I guess very little. Might be worth a look.
Just a small gap they said!!!!
Just loft the front wheel they said!!!!
Don’t shit your pants they said!!!micknmeld wrote:
Quote:Gday Roy, thanks for the intro. Sounds like you made a come back into bikes in a big way.Yeah, wish I had of got into competition as a young bloke. Probably still wouldn’t of been a flat brimmer but would have loved to be in enduro when fitness wasn’t an issue. Can’t really complain though. Farm life was great. Just a pity my kids won’t get the same.
Boony, we will never say no to sweep riders but you know that the yellow banana will love the racing, come back for more and still never die. I saw an xr and a drz pair up for 1st or 2nd in C grade last year (memory’s not so good). Tamworth boys too. With a bike like that you know it won’t be the bike that lets you down.
Is house 35 yet? I know he looks old but I don’t think he’s that old. We’d let him in anyway I suppose. After all nobody would question it based on that face.
