I’d agree with you there Scotty, some of the trails out there are looking really worse for wear… I was out there 2 weeks ago and seen the result of this mindless act. I have recently borrowed a hunting stealth camera, and was thinking of installing it down that way?

The Contour’s white balance seems to be less accurate than the GoPro. STM’s comparitive vid between the two showed this too. Also, isn’t the top of the line COntour much more expensive than the HD Hero2?

Yeah it does seem that way. At a quick look there is a massive price difference between the top of the line products. The Go Pro is 3/4 of the Contour price… I have the Contour Roam, its water proof, not expensive and does the job well.

I own contours and I’ve never had any issues of loosing camera’s etc. They do have small lanyards for extra protection if the camera does so happen to come off and you can buy for $22 fluorescent skins to not only protect the camera but can be seen easily if lost on the trail. A recent article in a magazine had all the top of the line cameras review, i’ll try and find it and post it up. The only mount the contour doesn’t have is the chest mount, but i do remember the article saying the best mounting option was the 360 helmet mount for contours. Also the contour can be really touchy when filming by hand, instead of a mount. I have found this comparison for you to view.

Has any one tried the KLIM Dakar Pant?

    Cheers,

I own a pair of KLIM Dakar pants, Steve from adventure moto was great with the purchase. These pants are fantastic, totally waterproof, so comfy, leather inner legs, velco on bottom legs allows to wear over the boot or in boot, 20 inch ventilation zipper on each upper leg allows you to cool in tight trials and has large cargo pockets for wallet etc…. I have nothing bad to say about these pants. They won’t disapoint.
