    Big crashes are bad
When I was 10 I fell off a pushbike and fractured my skull.
Also when my son was ten he fell off a pushbike and broke his arm in three places resulting in a compound fracture needing a plate and screws.
    Scared me to death

    Kids are very quick learners.
It is a tough thing to say but they need to have a couple of moderate offs to realise that speed equals danger and danger equals pain.

Gday Choppie, saw you join and was wondering when you might stick your head in. Welcome to the Old bulls, how old is your son? We have 640 acres at Comboyne with a private enduro track maybe you would like to bring him up sometime to ride with my young bloke who is 11. We mainly ride there in summer as it is a lot cooler than down here.

    hello Mick
    thanks for the offer .
My son is 11 too.He has is a learner but very keen.
He outgrew his crf70,which made it hard for me to decide what to get him next.
Having never ridden a clutch bike made it even harder. As with all kids they want the lastest and greatest.
So I sat him on a few sw yz’s and rm’s,couldn’t even touch the ground, they would kill him.
So one of his friends bought a chinese thumpstar for $600,and now he wanted one.
We are the proud owners of a chinese import.
It is a suprise how good they are.The bike has good power ,reasonable brake’s and easy to ride
plus it has a manual clutch .
Good for him to learn and in say 12 months it falls to bits so what, then I can put him on something faster and better.
Anyway sorry for raving on and on
640 acres at Comboyne you lucky so and so.

    Hello
    I live in Wingham nsw and ride a 2000exc 250 2t.
My fellow warriors and I ride around the Taree area and in particular Dingo Tops.
We do venture up to the Cells and Maxwells Flat when we can.
I also ride with my son who is learning but goes alright.
The Forests around here can be a bit dangerous with other bikes and 4wd’s but I suppose it’s the same everywhere.
Anyway glad I signed on looks like a great site with like minded people.
