I’ve done a bit more research and have found brand new ones for $950.00, I’m now in dilema wether to get an 8*5 and get it modded for the bikes at least then I can use it for carting other things, or wether to buy a bike trailer and a 6*4 box decisions decisions. I don’t have much space to keep them that;s my other issue.
Cheers
Chris. Thanks Figs, Dunno, haven’t looked yet, the description is galvanised grey, that’s about it. I might nip down and have a look, brand new ones from what I can see is about $1650.00. Oh and welcome to the site.
Cheers
Chris.Sikaflex, need to get me some of that! My Toe caps keep coming loose, the more I tighten them the more they loosen.
Hey Rat, do you know who distributes polisport in aus, or any online dealers so I can check some pricing, just downloaded their 20mb catalogue. I’ll get a price for UFO and Polisport, both will do the same job.
Cheers
Chris. You find it, does it make sense?
Chris.
I suppose the old saying stands true, you get what you pay for. But still a pair of $300.00 boots should last more than a couple of rides and a $600.00 pair of boots should last a lot longer. The importers really need to collect the feedback and give back to the Manufacturer that’s where the issues can be resolved.
Cheers
Chris.Could be worse could be red.

Mine have probably seen all up ten rides now (give or take a few) and I have now got cracks, a lock cam has ripped off, the inside of my left boot has blown out and on top of it all they leak like sieves.I emailed the importer and told them of the problems that I have had, but they have still not replied. That was around a month ago now.
Next time I’m going old school all leather boots and giving the leather – plastic ones a miss.
Hey Dan, what did the boots originally cost you?

Quote:Chris I have found an email to the parent company in the states telling them of their agents lack of respect for the retail customer usually gets a real fast reply from the Aussie importer, especially if that email was sent from all the other old bulls who have similar fate with O’neals crappy gear…try thor next timeI think the way to go is just tell people of your experiences, the importer will soon do something when their products stop selling, word can get around very fast these days with the internet etc.. Now we have 300 odd people that probably wouldn’t chose that brand next time they buy boots.
CHris.
Thanks Rat, I’m going to order Tommorrow, theres a couple of light marks on the plastics now but nothing major.

I have a column in my log book that has all parts used(every nut bolt washer boots goggles helmets fuel oil everything spent on the machine and I mean everything)
That’s a good idea, maybe I’ll start an excel spreadsheet to keep track of things, I just gotta remember to do it that’s the hard bit.

I gotta say after having my O’neals for over a year now, they are still in pretty good shape, other than losing a toe cap. Can’t say the same for the pants though, they started falling apart after the first ride, keep hassling the importers, if they are that crap quality they should do something about it.
Cheers
Chris.Oh and the best thing is their half the price of genuine.
No worries eagle, will keep them if you are interested couldn’t be bothered sticking em on ebay etc.
Cheers
