Yeah Ollie bang for buck I don’t think you can beat them even if you spend another 1500 modding it your still doin pretty well.. The only thing I feel it lacks is the suspension, I think i’ll end up putting some heavier springs in the front.. I have heard/read rumours that Kawa will be bringing out a KLX250 race bike in the next 1-2 years to compete in the WR/CRF/KTM etc market. O.S. they have the ’09 KLX’s with FI but we won’t see them in AUS until 2010.

Eagle, I am currently running 14/42 with the 300 kit, the 13t up front was great when it was a 250 gave it a bit more buzz.. I haven’t really felt the need to try any other combos yet.

Hey Eagle, sorry to say but it was awesome, great bunch of guys and it was great to meet everyone, the KLX took a beating and I now know that the suspension is way too mushy doesn’t handle the best in the tight stuff, felt like the front wanted to dip out all the time (was better after I let some air out of the front had 22-23psi in it.) I think I’ll be looking at a wr next year.

Hey DanD, welcome sounds like your situation is the same as a lot of us here.. Hows the WR, I’m considering one for next year, get a run-out 08 or an 09, the dealer says there is nothing different for the 09 other than some graphics.

Hey Badfun, your in the wrong place if your looking for unbiased opinions, seriously I spoke to the owner of the bike shop down our way yesterday, weiging up 250 vs 450, he said if you want a mellow 450 then the KLX is the way to go, he reckons the power is a lot easier to use than the wr or the crf. Personally I love the green but am also leaning towards a wr, (250 that is) I just think I’ll have more fun on the 250 rather than trying to hang on to a 450 all day.
