Well done STM, but Honda oh well as long as you are happy did you see the write up in one of the mags where they put a 297cc kit in one and they reckon it was awesome. If you don’t have it I can find it for you worth a read.

Looks very nice btw for a bike that isn’t orange.

    Cheers

Its not bike manufacturers that are being difficult to deal with I have seen warranty claims from major earthmoving manufacturers and motor vehicles, previously a lot of these claims were covered in “the old days” when the customer was number one, until everyone realised that this was not doing their bottom line any good, but it was doing their customer base wonders and their “Brand name wonders.
Now they will argue over a cheap “warranty” decision rather than selling units and customer happiness.

I had the oppitunity to do Failure Analysis with Cat in Melbourne (There is Failure 2,3 and 4 I think) and it was any eye opener to see what was covered (and what should not have been covered) because if you do the “CSI” thing and look at the metalurgy test and look at the shapnel under a microscope it is possible to determine the root cause of failure and where it started from i.e from the outside from a knock or from the inside from say a rotating componant and looking at the clutch pressure plate spring bolt, what may appear as simple marks to the naked eye, with a little magnification (even with loupe, thats one of those things the jewelers use) it will show beach marks back to the point of initial failure of the bolt.
Or even looking at the length of the bolt to see if it had been over tensioned (necked)

Don’t give up Moto collect the evidence (photos essential) and get on the net to see if there are multiple failures on other forums etc.
NUMBER ONE RULE…. DO NOT EXPECT PEOPLE TO DO THE RIGHT THING …… THEY WILL ONLY DO WHAT IS EASIEST FOR THEM SELVES.

THIS INCLUDES THE SO CALLED “BEST MATES (SALESMEN) AT THE DEALER.

    Bestr of luck
    Chicken.

    No appologies about the rant

Well said chick chick, It’s the same in the computer industry how many times I’ve been told it’s not in warranty because it had a virus, it is wrong, viruses don’t cause catastrophic failure of the heads in a hard disk, but the lay person would believe it and wouldn’t know any better therefore forking out for a new one, although labour from repairing a virus isn’t covered just thought I’d clear that up.
