Nick did the 450s have standard pipes?
They make a huge difference to the snappiness.
After 2 years with loud pipes (one you could fit your fist in)i have recently switched back to the stock pipe(originally i pulled it off the day i got it).
A guy i know told me he only used his loud one for fun and when he raced he used the standard because it is smoother more controlled power.
I tried it and am totally converted (even with the spark arrester and a hole as small as your thumb )
The bottom end is much tamer.
I find hill climbs are much easier ,when workiing the clutch the gap between wheel spin and wheelstand is measurably larger,it stalls less, starts better and getting sideways feels alot more controllable.
It sounds slower and probably is in a straight line but over all i think its worth the trade off (so do my neighbours)
Youll never covince me that 5 kgs is worth 200cc (maybe 20kgs ie a two stroke is worth it)
I know people say only the best riders ever use all the power, but i feel like im using it everytime i hit a straight or powerslide out of a corner, never do i feel like its to much power.
    My two cents. Cheers Ev

Ev did you do this because the “loud” one fell of while trailering it some where or you dinted the fark out of it and had no choice?

Can i suggest doing 2 or 3 fun poker run ride days through out the year. Say one in sunny corner area, wauchope, Coffs, stroud and so on. Where you would be charged a $20 “fee” to ride in it and have some fun and keep this awesome site running?

Also i am working on some Sticker option along with TB and maybe if we could charge say $3 or something like that to raise money?

    Just ideas

I spent 2 weeks every Canadian summer riding Whistler from 2002 to 2007. The trails they build are incredible and the vertical drop is 5000 feet so in a day you can descend the equivalent of Everest to sea level.
This is clip I edited from my first trip in 02. That is me on the blue bike and the white is Turnstyle.

Gee are you 2 the members of the sad sack club tonight. The DRZ is a great bike and is a great all rounder. But if you owned a adv bike like Jacko (little TB) and you only rode your other bike in stuff like what is on offer in coffs then why not. But stop knocking the DRZ its a fantastic bike and i will see if nick is any faster on that then his DRZ
