Thanks Mal for the unreal service. Rang him at 2.30pm yesterday and tyre showed up here with out a word of a lie at 2.25pm today. Will be throwing it on for a ride next weekend
Well i was planing a good weekend with my boy actually starting to ride his jr50 wednesday arvo i came home with a treat of KFC thursday (my end of the week) to find him ready to go off to the hospital after he fell off the swings.
Only to find my self there with him on the friday my first day off getting X rays to comfirm it was broken so had him at home sick of a heavy over sized half cast till next monday when they put a real one on.
in the arvo i put my old MTD lawm mower i payed $500 for 4 years ago on ebay only to find a guy payed $700 for it 8 hours later off me
then looked after the kids why the missus had a girlly night out for the saturday and work again sunday
Thanks wkdbeemer.
There is a plan to all of this. LONG term plan at this stage.
i want to ride around OZ in 2016 over a period of 3 months and i just don’t think a dr650 or the likes of will cut it. 450 will NOT cut it at all (it might cut my ass in half)
first step is to find a bike i really enjoy riding and i did ride the KLE 650 like the pic on here but green and was the smoothest bike i have ever riden bar none.
second is to find mates to join me on this quest
thrid is to start thinking $$$$$$ for it all

Quote:How much offroad ability is required to make a dual sport “good”?Good question my friend. I guess being able to handle main fire trails with ease and stable enough to feel comfy in the sadle at speed doing it

Quote:Is this the Versy 650 you are talking aboutTB
thats the one TB
Thanks TB i have spent a few k’s at the helm of a XTZ to and as it was a nice bike to ride it was more road and very unstable on dirt. The NX was a good dual and was 50/50 for dirt and road. Mate of mine has just brought the Versys and even though i have not ridden it YET he swears it’s one of the best bikes he has ridden in his life and he is a guy that has been around.
Now he has me thinking again

Get an XR650R and have both………….kinda…….
Funny you should say that mick. Its because of those really fast parts of Taylors arm that got me thinking about it but i think the XR650 is sort of lost between 2 worlds sorry but i really really loved your bike that day
Happy Birthday old fella hope your wife gets you a green bike :silly:

There is just one problem. I’VE BUSTED BURPLE!!
Broken headlight, taillight, exhaust, twisted front end.
First run at hill saw me lose traction, so I went back down and let a few lbs out of my rear tyre. Second run, got so much traction that the big girl went completely over, flipping in slow motion!! Thank goodness I got up on third attempt, as I was as busted as my bike! I didn’t start to feel right till this arvo. Body just ran out of fluids I suspect.
Thanks to Corey and Nathan for the weekend, looking forward to your photos Corey.I emailed all my photo’s to mick so there in his hands to get them on here for me as i couldn’t work it out
