What about a new patch to make the brand motif design as a common background of a fast on-coming bike, deep corner… either on-road knee-down, or off-road sideways on the pegs standing, but all the time a common theme of the winding road left behind in the distance between mountains..
Could revive cloth patches that we all love collecting after a ride?
I’d pay $25 for the privilege of doing the ride and having a patch to prove it. Get me a shirt too..

That would be grand mate. I’ve got a Garmin Dakota.
many thanks..Is it possible to still get one? I could really use a more correct version.

Hi guys I’ve pulled out early to get a spot for someone else better prepared.
I bought a rear rack from B&B and made a right side support arm for my 5ltr rear tank but I’m not confidant that it will support the gear I was loading on it in a test ride.
I am mostly concerned that the rear tank would leak with the stress put on it from the rack and weight of my camp gear and the lack of tie down points annoyed me so I decided that I wouldn’t take the risk of a failure and compromise other riders fun.
A flat tyre is one thing I can fix in 10 minutes, but leaking fuel into luggage or a trail of gear left behind is another thing altogether so I made the decision to get better prepared with a more able bike for one of these rides.
I’m really disappointed but won’t risk other peoples before mine fun with a set up that I’m really not confident in, and more importantly I have realized that I simply need one more bike which is not so bad.. I just can’t decide between a DR650 or a Tenere660. The Husky Terra is looking possible too!?
Have a great ride guys i’ll be sore to miss it but am planning ahead for the Nav rides in earnest now..
Thanks a lot.. I just snicked in by the look of the group count too! Gonna be good riding..
Can I please be added alas I haven’t got a ride partner yet? I would grateful if I could tag someones group even or something?!
I’m coming from ACT region and will be riding an 11 ADV WR450f.. Regardless I’ll turn up though… I
just found this ride and am not missing it..Regards Adam 0422117754

I think Ben Grabham might agree to their effectiveness too. He tested his out recently with good results.
I had an early EVS neck brace that didn’t feel right or allow enough movement to see ahead properly so I got rid of it.
I have a Leatt GPX2 which is good as it allows adjustments in fit and movement range unlike the other Leatt versions but getting a jacket like a ralley cross etc to work with it is not the best.
I wear mine under the jacket but can’t zip it up for fast cold riding conditions. Safety to hyper extensions in a crash is proven though for me after a unexpected get off at about 70 or 80 km/h where I hit my helmet on a tree mid flight that turned me midair … it let me get up and dust off before continuing again. I did think at the time that could’ve been very much worse.
I still find it a little annoying trying to look up a hill while still heading downwards but now I won’t ride without it as i’m adjusted to it.
Phil from Pro fast accessories and Trailzone mag have got your rear hanger.
I love the XR’s most for their pure offroad ability when set up but… the DR650 is the cheapest, most bullet proof and low cost to run in the long term for any Adventure bike set up still capable of going anywhere and being able to chew up economical km at a good speed I reckon.
Next up in bike size would be the 660 Tenere for me.Trailboss wrote:I dont want this to become a weight thread but when we weighed the 530 at Wauchope it went 129 kilos, the WR feels lighter than the 530 :huh:TB
Weight means nothing except on paper to some bikes. I like the extra weight of both my XR and WR…, Hayabusa they have all got good weight is how I say it. And they suit my riding better for it.
Especially after fitting the steering dampener my 2011 WR450 climbs and tractors better and is harder to knock off course on rock trails. More like riding my XR but very bloody better.
Instead of weaving and threading up rocky hills you can pick the best line and go a bit faster..That reminds me of something similar but a bit more ohh shiiittt
G’day Alex I’m Adam,
