Nickj was voted by TB to try the crossing first??? Nick tore across and out of the creek without a problem so TB went next. TB’s mighty steed balked at a large rock in the water and threw him into the chilly water where he was trapped under his steed. His head went completely under as he was pinned down and couldn’t shake himself loose. He managed to get his head above the water as all the spectators on the other side of the creek watched to see if he would drown.

The Tenere looked like a pressure washer as it squirted water out of the plug hole as she was cranked over.

THAT IS GOLD GOLD GOLD Mickp!!!!!!!!

What would the rest of the OB’s have given to see that………not once, but twice!!!! Well done TB!

I can hear Micknmeld laughing/ choking on his weetbix and spraying it all over his computer screen from here!!!

That’s better than watching him trying to get away from his 650 on the Hampton ride in January as he cross rutted and endoed it going downhill……I’ve never seen him move so quick…..like a pup on lyno!! (a big pup)

Don’t know what’s going on there TB……….I’m the fallerofferer!

Yesturday was probably the best day I have had on a motorbike, the terrain we rode couldn’t have been more diverse. We started with endless winding twin track in and out of creeks along a beautiful valley floor , then we began an epic climb to get to the highest ride-able mountain in Australia.

That run up Mt Pinnbar is a must do to put on your bucket list!! It’s a Cracker of a ride on your Enduro machine (ask Hatto)……..I can’t imagine how difficult it would have been on a fully loaded road/ trail machine!!!

The view at the summit would have made all the swearing, sweat and concerntration worth while! And getting down in one piece safe and sound would have topped off a brilliant day!! ………..Envy City!

    Well done and stay safe

Questions Crash. Does the ‘single’ assault mean:

    a) First and only one time look for me in the top ten racer boy type single go at Condo

    b) I’m using a single cylinder bike and I’m cool for doing so :silly:

    c) I’m entering as a single rider, no help wanted, needed or given. Just me the bike and a million rocks along fence lines at silly speeds.

    I got nothing really.

No Mal, single assault means…..he normally has a BRO for company!

Also, whilst there certainly are plenty of fenceline runs at Condo, it is a mix of very different terrains at times……creek beds, twin trail, rocky uphills & downhills, bulldust, wide tree/bush lined single etc.

You gotta have a go navigating/ racing at least once!

I forgot about TBs’ gaylord handguards! No….it’s not TB……it’s a 2 day race, so it’d be no good for the chief.

No, it’s not me Mal…..timing not right this year. I think he only has a partner for the 12 hour!!!!

How about his close relation posting previously by trying to throw people off the scent by bringing TB into it!

Agree with all that’s written above…….it was a great weekend.

It was a “Packet of Allsorts” Weekend!

It had everything you could wish for……..leaf covered ice rink stuff, muddy slop, rain forest single, swamp, “Baja Open” (as Mal5.1 would call the quicker stuff) uphills to heaven, downhills to hell, forest twin, windrows, all size puddles, rocky, narrow/ wide trails, thickshake fog, mist, stunning views, waterfalls……..etc etc etc.

The Friday ride was terrific. The country was beautiful. The company was just as good. A ripper of a late lunch at Gingers and a sprint home. Moose threw the Sweep Vest away coming home and was able to mix it up a bit to get rid of any cobwebs that may have accumulated in the XR………it was sweet…a few of those ‘going in a little hot’ corners……but hey, you gotta check the rev limiter on the old heart every now and again.

Saturday was just as good. A fair bit wetter, but it didn’t curb anybody’s enthusiasim. It was great to be out with a heap of fellas enjoying themselves in such crap conditions. A big thanks to Moose for the ‘Rental XR600′, I had a ball on Ol’ Burple, she’s a beauty. I was a bit slow getting the front wheel in the air over some of those slippery diagonal logs and paid for it with a drop or 5…..and stalled it plenty of times too……all operator error! Anyway, getting a flooded 6hunge restarted without decomp gave me plenty of rest breaks!!!!
Chicken & I were at each other all weekend…….it was brilliant. I haven’t laughed so hard for so long ever…..seeing some of the situations the said Chick ‘Houdini’ en had to escape from!…..GOLD!!! He threw plenty of rocks too….my black eye can bare witness to that! see below.

It was great to ride again with all the locals blokes, thanks for sharing the lush tracks. It was also good to catch up with all the OB’s again and the newer ones.

Thanks Mick for a job well done, loved scaring the crap out of you when you looked so lonely out front on your own! Thanks also to your family for allowing me & chicken to crash.
Thanks again Moose for the rental and for all your patience and encouragement of us all.

Thanks Hatto & Pauly for there big effort to come all the way up, ripper blokes……..and for the Hatton Fully Portable Spare Parts and First Aid Warehouse Facility carried in Hatto’s backpack!!!!!

Hope you do it again next year Mickyboy!

    G’Day Teza,
    Tough joices there!
As much as getting rid of the wife may fix some of your problems the fact is she will take most of what you own with her so that’s not a real option.
The RMX is a great bike and i used to own one so i have some experience on parting with it.
As yours is registered i am assuming that it is later than a 98 model? the fact they are old technology.
There was a time lag between the sale of my RMX and the purchase of the KTM but the memory was still strong and compared to the later bikes the RMX was a bit of a dinosaur.
What’s this got to do with anything i hear you ask.
Have you considered that the RMX is not as forgiving as you might think. For their time they were certainly more refined than other models available but they are still a little unpredictable.
Maybe an update to a later model 4 stroke would help to keep you in the saddle (it did for me).
The Yamaha WR250F comes to mind the pre 05 models are well priced sure you don’t get electric start but your used to kicking anyway.:)
You’ll get usable torque so that you can attack hills at a little slower pace.
The power curve makes slippery tracks easier and they are light and forgiving when you make a mistake.

As far as the jinx goes you will be rid of it.
And the wife will be happy to let you ride a bike that isn’t possesed.

I also suffer from issues when selling bikes, the money gets sucked into some black hole that everyone but you seems to be able to justify.
So what i do is start looking for the new bike at the same time as selling the old one.
I try and line up the sale with the purchase that way i get and spend the cash at the same time (just a thought)

    Rebore.

    G’day Teza,

I think Rebore has nailed it. After your sky/earth/sky/earth/crunch! I got to ride your rmx down the hill, through the creek and up the other side. I think they’re a fine old machine. If I had the funds, I’d love to have one in the shed….a great example of how bikes use to be….raw and aggressive. But, as you get older, you need all the help you can get. The RMX aint interested in helping you! I think a newer machine (like the KLX/DRZ/WR) with their better brakes, better suspension, better steering, more managable power, better ergonomics etc. would reduce fatigue and the chance of crashing ?

You may have to save a little more money to update a little, but in the long term…the amount of extra incident free enjoyment and reduced medical fees will prove well worth while.

As for the missus……..she’s part of team Tez and needs to know what your thinking and why. She’ll be right.
