Hi Wayne,
We are looking at camping so we will give it a miss and camp north of Gloucester. Have a great ride mate.
Hey Lotsa where are you guy’s staying on Saturday night? Razor and I are doing a 2 day ride leaving from Manilla and camping somewhere Saturday night. Not sure of the exact route yet but might meet up somewhere.
Cheers, Dean
Sounds like my old Massey Ferguson tractor every now and then   Never had it on a KTM though. Grab a shifter and give the starter a tap or turn the engine over by putting it in a high gear and spinning the rear wheel. Then try the starter. Works every time for me but you may have an issue if it keeps doing it.
Well done mate. Looks like a really nice install
Looks good Eags
Pretty wet down there by the look of it.
It’s never good when you loose riding days.

Cheers mate..
Yeah mate, The bike got it’s first ride for about 2 months into work the other day so i gave it a tub and took a few pics. Turned out alright.
Looks like a great ride Mick
. I’m hoping to get over there in the next few weeks to see the sights. Cheers
Saw that last week in the paper mate. I was thinking i might go for a look in case it goes for a bargain but really couldn’t be stuffed waiting around all day for it to come up. Let us know what it goes for.
Hi Nick,
I bought one for my 520 and when i got the 690 it had one on it already. It’s the only damper i have used so nothing to compare it too. I think there is other brands that have a few more adjustments as TB mentioned but in the end it’s not something i play around with all the time while riding.
I have never had an issue with the one i had on the 520 but my current one on the 690 has an issue with the dial not reflecting what the dampening is. The only time i adjust it is high speed on the tar. I use it at max to take out any front wobble and then i back it off to around 3 for the trails. I usually don’t ride single trail so i find 3 is pretty good. I like it because it’s a under bar mount and is out of the way. I did however have dramas trying to find bar risers for it as nobody makes any.
Any other questions just let me know.
I watched the latest round of the AMA Supercross last night and the 350 finished 2nd in the main event against the 450’s. Pretty impressive.

Great report and photo’s Eags. If I had my time again I would of made my doctors appointment for late today so I didn’t have my whole long weekend out of action.
Was a bit surprised you headed back via Watagans Creek Rd with all the rain about. It can be very rough and slippery heading back over the mountain. Yengo Creek Rd looks fantastic.

They come standard with rear pegs so KTM must be reasonably confident that if you throw your misses or kids on the back the thing isn’t going to snap in half a mile down the road. With the added bracing of the pannier racks i would think 20 kilo of gear should be no drama. As a matter of fact my 690 carries less weight with me and my gear then your 530
The quote you have used above Deano is from two KTM salesman, the people that sale them why would they say it if it wasnt true  . If you think it will carry 20 kilos over hill and dale do it. Fact is they are known for not having any subframe strength same as an XR650 for example. If you need to make it personal like your last line to justify whatever knock yourself out champ!
TB
Mate not trying to justify anything. The facts are that if a rider (eg. Lefty) and his gear weights less then someone heavier, than the overall weight on the subframe is the same. If you take this as a personal attack well I am sorry but I do find it a rich as you will hang shit on anybody given a chance.

Has a bit of the 990 look to it..Both Dan and Chris said you cant load a 690 up like we do and ride them where and how we do with the stuff we do because you will break the back of them  I know I asked the question cause it looks ok The twin tanks only hold 9 litres more fuel than a standard 690. The fairing looks good but

Well done Eags. You got that finished quick smart.
The raised head bolts that Bundyroy picked up are not an issue for me and probably for Eags because it’s a right pain in the arse having bags over the fuel cap so the only thing mounted to the top rack will be further back on the flat area.
Also the plate is 3mm ally so i don’t think it will cause too much damage to the bags but only time will tell.
Cheers
