Ok mate,
so 8am at the go-cart track. Home about lunch would be perfect.
If something happens at work tonight and i have to go in to work in the morning i will let you know as soon as possible.
Cheers
Eags,
I could be keen for a cruisy ride. I’m on-call this weekend so i will need to regularly check the phone and may have to piss off early if i have to head into work. I will let you know for certain later on today.
Cheers, Dean
Well i had been keen to take the 690 for a good run since i have had the mapping changed to fix the stalling and fitted the rally raid front tanks. Mickp posted a local ride so i decided to tag along.
It all started well with a early morning run down the F3 to meet the boy’s at Morriset. A quick refuel then we headed into the Watagan’s with Mickp leading the way. Not long after that Lotsa and Tryhard took over in the front and i pretty soon realized i was going to be holding these guy’s up for the rest of the day. A couple of stops at the halfway house for a drink and feed and then we made our way back home. We said our goodbye’s with Lotsa and Tryhard at Laguna while Mickp and myself headed back home via the Watagan’s to Cooranbong. I rolled in the driveway at 7:00pm and was in bed at 10 to 8. Never been so tied and sore in my life.
Definately happy with the mapping now with no more stalling and the rally raid tanks worked really good with no issues. The front screen was great at higher speeds on the freeway also. Just got to sort out the suspension now and get a bit of comfort back.
Thanks for a good ride guy’s and here’s a couple of pics i took.
Bol,
With the sale of Heidi and now the 250 it looks as though you will be after one bike for everything. I can see a 690 in the garage sometime soon. :woohoo: :woohoo:
Looks like a great weekend riding boy’s. I was thinking about you last night when the heavy rain set in and was hoping you weren’t out in it. :S :S
Spewing I wasn’t able to get away. 3 days off and not one call in. At least i managed to get the Rally Raid tanks fitted to the 690 and it really looks the goods. You will be jealous Eags. :woohoo: :woohoo:
Well finally back in Newy and am able to download a few photos. Had a great ride on Tuesday thanks to Razor, Bollocks and John. My first real run on the 690 and it performed flawlessly. It loves the fast open stuff but I still need to get use to it in the slow technical stuff. Razor had some dramas with the KLR which held us up a few times and there was some talk of a ceremonial burning at the top of Mt kaputar but it made it home in the end. John’s nice looking transalp ended the ride worse off with both rear blinkers smashed, a bent gear lever and scratched left fairing. :pinch: Heidi had a couple of unexplained shutdowns but Bol didn’t seem too worried and continued on.
Beautiful country out there and a great day out.

One of the many river crossings. This is where Razor realized he had lost all electrical’s and the push starting began.

I just have to re-arrange a few things to finish early on the Friday. Feb the 24th is an on-call weekend for me at the moment but things could change between now and then.
It appears Jeffro and I have a similar roster but our off weekends are reversed. :pinch:

FRIDAY 13th Jan to Sun 15th #213139Mate just checked my roster and i’m too slow to get my leave app in to take the friday off so i won’t be able to on that weekend. The weekend before I have the friday and money off if that helps.
December 13, 2011 at 8:52 am in reply to: Ride from Newy to Bilpin and back. FRIDAY 13th Jan to Sun 15th #213123I’ll be keen Eags. Will have to check to make sure it doesn’t clash with my on-call weekend but if a date is set soon i should be able to swap weekends. Also i thought the public holiday was a Thursday next year?
Great idea there Eags. I will have to grab a few of those socks next time I’m near a Kmart
BUMP and priced reduced to $3750. Will go on bikesales this week if no interest.
Cheers Eags,
Went for a ride this arvo. Seat is one of the first things to go and also need some bar risers or different handlebars as it’s way too low to stand. Will take a bit to get use to the acceleration as it is quite different to the 520.

KFPanda wrote:Hi Dood,Here is the Dunlop link for the tyres & recommended rime sizes mate this will help with matching the state tyre size & your rim.
http://www.dunlopmotorcycle.com/tirecatalog_tire.asp?id=14Now I found a cheap Dunlop 707 110/100 in MCAS hard terrain
Sounds a wired size for a bike which comes with a 140/80 rear but this tyre is awesome grip & gives excellent control & is wearing well looks to last 3 times as long as Mitchellin rear which spins like crazy.
I will be using the Dunlop Geomax MX71 next.
The D707 110/100 is as wide as a 130 tyre but fits the smaller rear rim on my bike.Ask for Sam in City MCAS store & he will help you out mate!!
Regards, KFP
Thanks KFPanda,
Looking at that website the 130/90-18 is recommended for my bike. One thing i found interesting is for the same size rear rim if you have a KTM 450 it recommends a 120/90-18 but for the 525 it recommends a 130/90-18.
Cheers
Thanks guy’s for the feedback. This gives me a few more options.
Has anybody ran the Mefo offroad or stone master from Adventure Moto?
Cheers
