As TB has already said, we popped back on to the road and headed for Sofala. Got a quick look at Sofala, and it looks like a very nice old town! Didn’t have time to hang around as the sun was hanging low and we had a few k’s to cover to get to hillend.
The trip to hillend was an interesting one as Lefty said. The dust and bugs on the visor and the sun in the eyes was plenty of fun, hitting hills and backing off not being able to see the road. TB pulled up to swap glasses again so i kept into to get to Hillend.
A few roadies at hillend pub( and i got asked for I D cause i looked 12), and we got going to the bridal trail.
As had been the trend along the way, Lefty flew past me havin a ball and as much as i wanted to keep up, i let him go enjoyed the ride.
It was a very senic trip to the river, and the track had been smoothed out by a bull dozer, so it was plenty of fun.
I pulled up to wait for the guys to head down a track towards the river while TB found a camp site. Not long into the track we came across a bog hole and i watch the group fight there way through. I got most of the way through but had the legs out to push me through, when my left leg got caught on something and the bike went that way, and pinned it against the bank. As i watched Boulder ride off i thought to myself, as i tried to wrestle the bike of my leg, what the hell am i going to do here!!!! I stop the bike and some how got off the bike and pushed it off!! I continued on and pulled into camp!!More to come, got to go to work
It was a great weekend. Started off with abit of running around to put the finishing touches on my adventure set up, and a few bits for the DR.
Rode to meet all at TB’s and was the first to arrive. Following shortly (pardon the pun  ) after was lefty, then the 400 duo Gaz and Krusty, a bit of a chin wag, a look over the set ups and Boulder arrived which was the que to gear up!!!
The quick slab to Mt Vic was fun, up the front with TB, chattin via Blue tooth. A few quick stops as we got carried away and the group got caught at some lights, and we the dirt, . Not everyone hit it as hard as i did, as i gave Boulder and i think lefty a display of the quickest ever crash after hitting the dirt, as it was approximatly 2.5 meters off the road and i binned it (in front of a rail corp dude). Yep was good to get it out of the way and boulder and i put it down to the pure power of the DR650.  That and the talent cheque i deposited didn’t clear in time and i ran out…..
After a laugh and a photo (TB is every where with that camera) we got moving again.
Alot more laughing via the blue tooth and a failure report we popped back on to the slab. Not for too long though, but enough time for me to regather as i was very embarressed………
We hit some more railway service track, which was a great way for me to get use to the bike, the weight, the handling etc… And i was happy overall……….With the bike n e way!!!!
Now TB will have to jump in at stages and say where we went, because it was all very new to me! We headed from Mt vic to clarence via bell, and had loads of fun. The twin tracks were tops, abit of a hick up with a tree down crossing the path but we crossed the track(at the spot where the motley crew photo was taken see above) and kept in to it!!!
Blackmans flat and ben bullen were heaps of fun, a great pace was set by TB and the DR loved it almost as much as i did.
There was a long stretch along a fence line around that area somewhere and it was tops. Flew past a snake baking in the sun which got the attention of a certain trail leader!!!! Funny stuff!!!
From there, we mad out way to capertee for a splash and dash, via the wall (dunno where that was aroung the gardens of stone i think), which was fun on a loaded bike. My attempt was in no way pretty, or spectacular but it did the job with no damage and thats enough for me.
With a quick stop at capertee with the pace up a notch to beat the light, we headed to Sofala via Razorback(again i think).
The road was skaty and wound its way down a valley and back out. It was alot of fun and the pace was still on!More to come!!!!
Home safe, had a blast, DR rocks, even though its been upside down  report to come, and yes the missus was logged on checking on the progress!
