Hi Murph
Went through the Awaba tunnel a couple of weeks ago , the water was half way up the engine but luckily had my carb ( remember those things ? ) breather hoses routed up into my air box so all good just a boot full of water .
The trails were a mess and had to be careful on the open stuff with deep rain ruts waiting to bring you undone , will be out there on Sunday morning to do it all again
Cheers
DrewyHey Dude
The choices are endless , being an elderly rider I have ridden and owned many endure bikes over the past 10 years . My favorite was my 2011 KTM 400 exc , it was I believe the perfect capacity with more than enough power without beating you up on a long ride .
After the sale of the KTM I have since owned a TM 450 , Beta 300 & now have gone back to a 4 stroke in a Beta 390 rr which Is very much like the old KTM 400 with a very smooth and usable engine but as with most bikes the suspension will need to be sorted to suit your weight ( hope this helps )Cheers
DrewyHi Ian
Yes mate had the 2014 Beta 300 rr , great bike but find the 4 strokes suit my riding style and old age much better
Flyn Motorsports done me a great deal on a 390 so deal done .
Cheers

DrewyHi Wolfie
Mate sounds like you have had more than your share of bad luck , depression is a nasty bitch and based on experience sometimes takes way to long to be diagnosed .
I am like you mate luckily I have a loving wife who has put up with a fair bit over the last 30 years .
My diagnosis come after suffering for most of my life going through highs and very lows , its the same old story you go to the doctors describing how you feel , they send you for blood tests and way you go everything is OK .
I remember reading a story in sidetrack magazine written by Tony Kirby on his fight with depression , I read that story and the next day took the magazine to my doctor , threw it on his table and told him that was my illness .
I have been on medication since and life has totally changed for me , the lows are still there but manageable.
Anyway mate I hope things work out for you and the wife mate , I hope you get on top of that bitch .Cheers
DrewyCan’t wait , must have seen the original about 20 times when I was a young fella
Drewy
Thanks mate , pretty much answers all my queeries .
cheersHi guys
Just thought I would give some feedback on the mods to my Beta 300rr
The Beta is a great bike only let down by the sachs forks ( in my opinion ) so after spending $500 on firmer springs
and valving mods the forks now work as well as anything I have owned or ridden . The forks now ride over rocks , roots
and trail junk without any deflection and give the front end a very planted feel :cheer:Being an old fart and finding the power a little to strong for my pissy little arms the power valve was adjusted from 2.5 turns in to 3.5 turns , this has really made the power more lineal and seems to grab traction a little better.
I removed the steering damper because I could not get the bars where I wanted , these things are very stable and found no issues without the damper .
The next mod may be a recluse auto clutch , any feedback on these would be appreciated .
Cheers Drewy
