I took Gaz up on his offer and dropped off a large drum sander that I have been trying to get down to a mate in Melbourne for the last couple of months. Turns out he lives 15 minutes from where Gaz was heading so it was meant to be.
Just wanted to say a big THANKS to Gaz for doing a favor for a complete stranger.
I will be sure to pay the favor forward. Cheers SteveLooking good Bender. Steve
It seemed ok on the forest roads, as good as the Strom which isn’t saying much but Mark is finding the back end a bit bouncy in stock trim. Apparently other owners are fitting Kawasaki shocks to the back. Steve
Yep lesson learned

what type of snake is that ??
Yep fair call 😆 The snake is a Tiger .
There are allot of reports of huge variance in fuel economy from one bike to the next by up to 20 miles/gallon on The ADV forum but you probably already know that. Have you pulled the plug after a bit of a ride to see how it is looking?
SteveFrom what I read it is the main bearings not the big end that is at fault. I dare say the first mechanic has pulled the top end down and not split the case? Pretty rare for it to be a main bearing failure on any bike so I would excuse him for not finding it initially but if it were me would not have let it go back out with a noise like that.
SteveYeah he rides better than I ever will :cheer:.
I practice archery and often see videos posted of this fella. It is amazing what we can achieve when we dont let stuff get us down.
I suppose you have seen the Glitch-oz creations?

Sounds good Nick, looking forward to the pics.
There are some good threads on ADV and Stromtroopers of people turning crashed Stroms into more dirt worthy beasts. Search thinstroms if anyone is interested.Hi Ecks-Man, I only noticed the wind at high speed as well so am not concerned as others are with the so called buffeting.
You sound like you have some good gear on the bike, I am picking up so crash bars tomorrow and have another bash plate to go on (not to confident with the B&B plate mounting on the the motor). I got pannier frames from Motor cycle Tours Downunder in QLD for soft bags.
Give me a yell when you are replacing the tyres and I will let you know the mileage on the Anakees, 3000klm so far without much sign of wear.
I dont know that I will push the stock suspension but you never know. Cheers SteveHi Steve, my username on Stromtroopers is Strombow.
Ok a Transalp would fit the bill better. From what I have seen of the Tiger on the net/reviews I think I could live with one too.
No nibbles on the Wee could be because they are running out the old models at a bit over 8 grand at the moment. Maybe when they run out things will pick up.
I look forward to seeing what you end up with. SteveHi Steve, I am a member of Stromtroopers and posted over there.
No ABS, I hope I can live without it  .
I did a 700klm day in the saddle on the way home and did get a bit sore so will fit the gel pad I have and a sheepskin maybe and see how that goes.
The fork brace is on my list, I brought back pannier frames that I picked up from MTD at Wurtulla QLD for soft luggage, I was going to buy the Suzuki crash bars (would you recommend those or another brand?
The screen/buffeting I reckon will be fixed with an adjustment of the screen either in stock range or a Madstad bracket although I didn’t find it that bad.
Now your dilemawith finding a bike more dirt worthy but as good on the road, I can only think of the Tiger or Tenere. Do you have others on your list?
Thanks for your reply. SteveThanks Guys.
Mick, I haven’t ridden many bikes but it has plenty of go for me, I handled it easy on dirt roads so it will do the job that I want. If we ever cross paths Mick you can have a go, I dont know your history :cheer: .
SteveNice van Chris, this site has some good stuff http://www.ozvan.com.au/
Dual batteries are the go and wire everything to run off the auxiliary. A c-tec charger wired to charge off 240 when your in a van park would do and solar is just as easy. Would be a fun project. Steve
